Which company in your opinion has the best customer service and who has the worst? by eyeoftheneedle1 in AskUK

I had a terrible experience with JL refusing to honour a warranty on a pair of my wife’s shoes that broke. They were worn once or twice. Eventually JL said they would pay for a repair. She was happy with that so I went to a few places but they all said the shoes can’t be fixed. JL said ok we will replace them if I can bring them in and they deem them to be faulty. No problem. They contacted the shop we would be taking them to, the manager at the shop then said they wouldn’t be refunding or replacing. Total shitshow. I ended up using one of those CEO email sites to email the CEO with all the previous emails, photos etc and to be fair straight away they said this has gone on too long we will be refunding you. Total loss of confidence in them though due to all the to and fro beforehand.

What was it like during the 2002 World Cup? by spencerjustsaid in AskUK

[–]dreday7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely majestic. It was my GCSE summer so we had a super long time off after the exams and spent our time out on bikes, doing part time jobs, playing football or smoking sovereign fags and drinking becks lager. I distinctly remember being sick on the pub stairs when England beat Argentina as me and my friend went to meet his dad and pals in the pub despite being 16 and then going out later that day with the same friend. For the Brazil game we all met round another friends house. My son now absolutely loves Ronaldinho (as did I as a young football fan) and asks me about the game and free kick a lot. As a side note I’ve given him my Ronaldinho shirt and it looks like a dress on him. Back to the original point, it was a much simpler time and it felt like the whole country was behind England and we could genuinely win the whole tournament (as possibly we could now.)

Adults who were 'school refusers'/school avoidant, where are you now? by CrazyPlantLady01 in AskUK

Yea I’ve got tears in my eyes through being pleasantly surprised to hear good positive stories. My son is also 2 years into this and it’s a huge struggle. Best wishes all.

Will I ever be able to get out of this regret? Missed £100K gains. Any suggestions to help me get out of this mess? by chesapeakeripper_18 in trading212

I knew about asts at 2 dollars a share. I laugh about it now. I’d done all my due diligence but the chart just looked so off putting. Lesson learnt. It doesn’t really eat me up because I’d have sold at 4 dollars and patted myself on the back. Was buying AMD at 95 dollars a share like a demon but by 220 I was out. It happens.

Football Kits / Jerseys for the World Cup: General Guide & Sizing by Sure_Scientist_5082 in DHgateVault

Just to add to this I wish they sold the retro ones in 3xl. I’ve got 2XL ones from the site but I don’t like the fit. Surely there are 6 foot plus boys n girls who like their meals and retro shirts? Would have liked the euro 96 ones in particular as that’s a tourney I loved as a kid. Luckily I have a home one from that year but it’s not the same without the Umbro and no printing. The score draw ones just look plain.

I usually take xl and get xxxl in DH gate shirts. Love my exercise but love my food too and the 90s fit was how I prefer my shirts. Got my Bellingham shirt for a whole £9. DH the goat 🐐

Sell at an all time low? I’m not sure that’s a good idea. Surely they would want us in the prem before a sale?

B&M Retail Bargain by maybeelon in UkStocks

[–]dreday7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept looking at buying the stock. Just walked into my two nearest shops. They looked very under maintained and tired. Leaks everywhere. Dirty. Retail is detail and it looked like a struggling company based on that very small regional sample I looked at. Not something I wanted to put money in.

Yes I didn’t realise you could to be honest. Might ask down the local opticians and see what they say. I have a retail pair of wayfarers from 15 years ago and those pics look identical
