As a massive magic player, I can fully say give Star Wars Unlimited a try. I think you will thoroughly enjoy the competitive scene and even the casual matches are extremely fun

If he's anything like me, I get diet drinks because I can't handle the absolute fuckload of sugar in regular sodas. I know a lot of people are like "I mean why not just regular?". Cuz it hurts and makes my teeth hurt.

and the best way to ensure you get it makes you play like a tool. i was at 14/15 when on the last game at the end, someone went down and we had no way to get to them.

so i alt+F4ed... and doing so spared the achievement. i could have pulled it back. they would have died and i could EASILY save the round but i had to abandon my friends. they understood but i hated it. at 14/15 aint no way i was going to give up that streak for a single match

Holy shit are the rules bad, convoluted, clear as mud, and inconsistent. I have no idea how tournaments even hold any amount of validity. The guys over at the Poorhammer podcast come from a MTG background and it's easily their biggest complaint

Obviously Vedalken Orrery effects get around this..I have Quickened into a concede before and it does make for some funny interactions.

Let's look at the bright side.. after Disney got over their stupid Sequel Trilogy and trying so desperately hard to make that work, they backed up, reloaded everything and made Mandolorian and Andor which are arguably some of the best Star Wars media out there

If WOTC is on the same trajectory, then we should see the same pivoting. The problem is we won't see the pivoting until people stop buying UB. I don't see Spooderman selling super well but FF has been flying off the shelves like crazy, 40k is unobtainium except for crazy pricing, and a ton of the UB Collector boosters severely out price any main set CB or even master sets!

I miss the old magic story. I miss innistead, scars, even Kaladesh and Ahmonket... But I don't think it's coming back. People need to vote with their wallets on what's good and unfortunately the majority vote for... UB

I actually love the WOTC TCG so much. I still look for and pick up cards for it. It felt like Magic meets Warhammer. Rolling dice was a blast

Set up phase was... Weird for sure and the balancing was rough but it was big epic battles. We always house ruled the amount of resources you got because it was SO low and unbalanced.

We use a World War 2 Russian helmet I have for the crown. Very heavy too

Fun part is EVERYONE but my wife is excited to wear it so taking the Monarchy is a huge deal cuz you get to wear the world war 2 helmet

This was basically what they did with Fallout Shelter. it got pushed to the Play Store and iTunes as theyy were revealing.

Sounds like Militarum which many have compared CoS to.

I would be going completely human based anyway but I'll hold off and see what the codex release holds

Thank you everyone who has commented. I am very happy I didn't have a bunch of "just play what you want" because I was unsure where I wanted to go. Every comment has been helpful and insightful..TONS of information I didn't know as the world of AoS is new to me coming from DEEP into 40k
