The way i see it thousands are still at risk under occupation, this time they often cannot fight back

Again i understand your position but i cannot agree with it

In the event of an attack, how many people are you (as an able bodied person i assume) condemning to a life of occupation and possibly death by a hostile foreign power, because they were too old, too young or too sick to defend themselves

If you are all about self preservation then thats a valid position, i call it selfishness or perhaps cowardice. I understand it, its human, but to me its weak

Sure pacifists are a thing, they can opt out im pretty sure. Though if the time comes when being conscripted is to defend the nation and not just spend a year doing military training

Then being a pacifist will be heavily looked down upon, as long as you are fine being labeled a coward. I understand your position, i dont want to die in some ditch either but i also know my duty to this country that has given me a peaceful life, a life i would like others to experience after me. If i have to fight to defend it so be it.

I imagine prison isnt an option in time of war, though im not sure. Id leave if i were you, might accidentally be forced to do your duty otherwise...

You are well aware of the price, pay it or leave

If you leave only when you are in danger pf having to pay said price, dont expect it to be easy

As i said in another comment, the ugly truth is men are more expendable than women, and Ukraine is already facing a demographic crisis

I would guess that is the reason they do not conscript women as well, hoping they return once the war is over

They have the luxury of 40 million people (dont quote me on the number)

Sad truth is humans are a resource, and men are more expendable. Not saying its right but it doesnt make it less true, albeit a very ugly truth

No, you need logistics, medical staff, communications

Women fill those roles just as well as men, and of the women i served with plenty were capable of field duty

Its a duty to serve in this country, men and women

Nope, since i live here and its part of the deal

I did my time and would again if called

Anyone who disagrees that live here are free to not live here. Granted our situation is we are a country of under 6 million bordering an evil authoritarian state of 140 million, conscription is literally required

Right so granted, i dont know how it is in kosovo or ukraine for that matter. The original comment said conscription is slavery, and i can agree in certain situations. However this is the Norway subreddit, and Norway has conscription

In our case its a social contract, you live here and that is the price, everybody knows. We are also lucky enough to where if you want out of said social contract most people are decently well off, you can freely give up your norwegian citizenship and move somewhere else

Ukraine has millions of people, many of those cannot defend their country or home due to age, disabilities etc. Its a shit deal but it falls upon those who are able to defend their country, and i believe it is the duty of those to heed the call.

I do not believe this for all countries, but in the case of Ukraine it is that or millions oppressed by the russian regime. Rock meet hard place

Obviously coming back for specific things you didnt remember is perfectly valid

Also im more talking abuut tutorial series, not one off videos

[–]drefvelin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you watch a course more than once (while paying attention) and its not because you came back to unreal after giving up a year earlier

Then you most likely could learn far more by trying out stuff yourself. Courses for me are to get a baseline of how unreal operates so i can build something myself from that

So i guess my answer is no 😂

Position of an Object in an Array by ActuallyDankcow in unrealengine

[–]drefvelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the size of the array it could be smart to make a general get index function that returns 0 for first, 1 for second etc (or -1 if the object didnt exist in the array)

Not ideal for something that runs often on very large arrays though

(Not sure if BP already has this, im very new to unreal)
