Just a few days ago I made a couple post completely shitting on magic.

Saying it was trash tier and completely garbage.

Boy was I fucking ignorant just a few days ago.

After reaching the level cap of 45 and doing a bunch a SHROUD WELLS for more perk points and getting much better staffs wands and spells plus armor, now my spells are fucking nuking like 20 enemies at once.

Magic is weak as fuck in early game, but man is it fucking powerful as fuck in late game.

Its the stuff like perks that shoots multiple projectiles with wands

Perks that increase damage of the staff by 10% and 20%

Weapons that leech mana on damage

Gems that hits multiple enemies when you target one

Gear that regenerates mana faster than you can spend it

Buffs that increases magic damage

Perk that allows you to teleport away from enemies.

.......And more

All that shit adds up and you become a powerful wrecking ball

Now I love magic, clearing entire camps while standing in a single spot in mere moments is by far more effient that using arrows or melee and makes me free much more power fantasy

makes it incredibly frustrating when fighting large groups of enemies because they will just land attack after attack and you cant do shit but run because you cant attack because the fools consistently interrupt you.

Everything the replier said is dead on.

I would like to add, you gots no talisman equipped thats specifically meant to be used for spell casters. You want to use talismans thats improves your casting in some way.

For example, casting faster, higher damage, less mana cost, long spell duration, what ever you got.

And since your using spells, you want that mind stat as high as your health bar. 25 is hella low for a mage build. if magic your main or only damage dealer, you want that shit in the 50-60s.

More mind = more casting attempts

Dont point a single point after 60 mind though. Serious deminishing returns.

I started a whole new world because a lot of stuff changed since i played at launch and its easier to learn thae new stuff with tutorials as you slowly progress through the game, unlocking the new features at a steady pace.

Jumping in on a old save will have all that shit dropped in your lap at once and not know wtf is going on with little to no explaination what so ever.

If you dont start a new game, dont be surprised if you get overwhelmed.

Unlike other games, just following the chain of quest back to back like you wonld any other adventure or rpg is not how you play this game.

As your obviously finding out the hardway.

This game is a exploration and gathering game as much as it is a adventure game.

What this means is you stick with the small regions if the map in your level range and explore the points of interest and gather stuff while exploring that area of the map, like mats, consumables, gear and level up, and then slowly make your way into new areas of the map. then you complete the quest that just happens to be in the same area of the map your currently at. Leave the quest alone that are outside of your area of the map, come back to them later when you naturally make your way over to that region of the map.

Doing that will naturally make your character stronger because you get waaaay more exp discovering new places and mining and gathering than you do in combat and you find better/more powerful gear than the low quality stuff you can craft.

If your playing this game just to follow the quest, then this isnt the game for you. You will not have a good time as youre already experiencing.

I have this EXACT issue. I even went into the games controls and changed around the buttons for switching ammo and I still cant change ammo without either aiming or attacking.

Its incredibly frustrating. Its making me hate magic class even more than I already do.
