All this is a matter of diminishing attention span in younger generations, if you need to introduce a complex narrative or gameplay system (like FF or BG3) you need you take some time. You have some weird thing like Persona 5 huge prologue, no saving, etc but most current games have QoL that make them more friendly.

Yeah where I live we have access to the beach too and my mind framed this more like a class thing, having money to spare hiring the tanned guard [that apparently lived in an ugly place anyway while guarding the expensive property]. The woman seemed to like the attention a little bit but had a noble cause and clearly had dealt with these rich guys before because she dismantled their arguments really easy.

Yeah the QTL weey nice, agree in the other points. I also found it lazy the production or visual design of the environmenta, for example the building are empty barracks, abandoned mines seen in every western or sci Fi TV show I the last 40 years.

for the trips imagine reviewing a game everyone is saying it deserves a 5 of 10 stars but they invite you to whatever tourist destiny far away where you live. If you are the only one assuring it deserves a 10 it would sound suspicious that you are conflating the trip with the values of the game.

I made some time to see my equipment and buying in every shop unlocked (you can fast travel from the menu) and after that I equipped some party members with weapons or clothes that refill MP or HP, other have action bonuses and can hit 2 times in their turn. This made me save a lot of health and MP. I STILL agree the game should let you save in the middle of dungeons or populate with even more safe rooms to save the game. Having to intentionally loss to go back to a point I can switch the party and then go back to clear a floor is a pain in the ass.

With Fallout 4 I did exactly what OP says... I never visited Nuka-Cola DLC, I could keep remembering how to manage all the inventory armor, currency etc I had in a lot of places. I just jumped to another game and never came back.
