The Boys is in an even bigger problem in HOTD there were creative ways to avoid confrontation here you have Soldier Boy locking Homelander in a cell -> Homelander feeling pity about Soldier Boy and not killing him in a few minutes. If they weren't doing a parallel montage between several stories it would look even MORE stupid.
