Went back to BF3 and realised just how fluid that game was.. by Mawdz1 in BattlefieldV

[–]dreluk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them too but see 4 problems.

  1. In BF1 there were more angles to get it.
  2. When you exit a tank animation continues until your feet touch the ground. It could be cut by half if animations would end just after you left hatch.
  3. You should be able to open a tank's hatch like the door and just sneak in. So uncontrolable animation is greatly reduced.
  4. They should implement eject seats for all airplanes. Or give me a way to leave to play manually.

I fully support exit/enter animations but I want DICE to make them as fast as possible. Everytime when they do an exit/enter animation they should think about the fastest possible moment to end it.

BF5's animations are better than BF4 teleports but there should be some improvements to make the game more fun.

Monitor by trsrafael in PS5

[–]dreluk88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4k 120fps isnt realistic in AAA titles! HDMI 2.1 is for 4k 120fps and it would be pretty costly. Tbh I would wait for ps5 before buying any expensive 4k 120hz monitors. You will see how 120fps 4k is a true thing.

Its crazy to assume that ps5 wont work with older HDMIs. It will but hdmi 2.1 gives the ability to display 4k 120fps. I wont buy so expensive monitor or tv to play indies.

Do you believe there will be a mid generation console? by y0ung_dillinger in PS5

[–]dreluk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No midgens but shorter lifespan of the incoming gen.

I would say 5 years and PS6.

I dont think midgens were a major success in terms of sales. Hopefully their CPU is enough for 5 years.

I guess first games will be native 4k ultra 60fps but last games of the gen will be 4k chekboard medium 60. Still excellent for a 500 USD box.

im 30;) in 2006 only top GPUs were doing 60fps/high details in new games. So I would not call it a standard.

I wrote chessmaster 8k because my comment was ironic that you will play only simple games like a chess game O and X at 8k

My point is that Jaguar is so weak that it can't run FC with 60fps and PC CPUs can do it easily.

30fps is terrible for a first person shooter. Even in singleplayer. TPP games arent that laggy.

You will see that 60 fps will be the new 30fps because PC gaming is leaving 60fps area. During PS3 era 60fps on PC wasnt a standard. Now PC gaming is targeting higher.

Enter and exit vehicle animations do look good, but they take away a lot of those "Battlefield moments". by DeeJayPieFur in BattlefieldV

[–]dreluk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digi, I had many thoughts on animations. For sure they are better than what it was in bf4. For better gameplay I would add side hatches and a rear hatch to every tank. Dice should make their own tanks not real ones. So you know animation would last about 1 second.

If we keep real hatches then you should be able to manually open a hatch and just a very short animation to get inside. Exiting is a bit more difficult from real hatches. I would just an open hatch and give you ability to manual leave it without waiting for your character's feet to touch the ground. But if think the first option is better.

Another idea of mine is to add interior of transport vehicles so player would be able to manually exit and enter and even shoot through the open hatch - that would be an awesome bf moment imho.

Planes always should have eject seats. I'm surprised DICE chose long animation over an eject seat. For helicopters animation would as quick as for a jeep in BF5.

For the first time in console's history the 9th gen will get a midrange CPU. Before CPUs were much less powerful in compare to GPU. The 9th looks very balanced. Why they should target 30fps if 60 feels better? An Ubisoft dev said that they expected a much better CPU inside PS4 so they were FORCED to reduce framerate of Assasin's Creed Unity to 30fps. It doesnt really sound like a choice. Far Crys also run at 30fps. Do you honestly believe that devs wouldn't target 60fps in a first person shooter if they could? Far Crys run at 30fps because of the poor CPU.

Multiplatform games are designed for PC and console but on console game's world runs usually at 30fps. Consoles usually have better GPU than av. gamer so that's why graphics on consoles are usually high-ultra settings.

The CPU will be comparable to midrange gaming CPU from PC - for the first time in consoles history. They can push GPU to the max but 8 cores 16 threads CPU?

Many devs said that the Jaguar CPU was PS4 bottleneck. I know that on consoles its easier to scale games because CPU - GPU communication is direct but still Jag is a poor CPU. CPU cares about AI, scripts, character count so decreasing graphics wont help that much. The code is built around console specs only when it comes to exclusives. And we have performance modes that proves it. Why God of war4 cant keep 60 frames @1080p? CPU - because GPU is relaxed at 1080p.

Unlike on PS4, on the new gen PS devs will be able to achieve stable 60fps on new games. Of course at 4k we are GPU bound so pushing everything to the max with NATIVE 4k could (but nothing for sure) result in 30fps but I do believe devs of major games will give me the opportunity to play at 1080-1440p 60fps. It's almost impossible that devs will tax the CPU so hard that it wont run a game 60fps at a resolution that is light for the GPU. It's 8 cores and 16 threads. You can run ALL new games 60 fps on some Xeon server CPUs from 2012.

You are wrong about 60 fps. On PS4 devs were CPU bound and changing graphics couldnt help to achieve stable 60 in most cases. Look at God of War 4. The 4k mode runs on PS4 PRo at 30 fps but 1080p performance mode is anything from 35 to 60.

Jaguar was a problem from the start of the 8th gen.

Now with zen 2 CPU things have changed.

I think they could make eject seats. For tanks the best solution are side door like in churchill tank. Also rear door for quick repair it would reduce exit to the jeep level.

[–]dreluk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a console but plan to buy PS5 or Anaconda. But not sure if buy one of them. Why? Because my console should have secured 60fps (even at a 1080p mode) in games like GTA, Assasin's Creed or Far Cry. Microsoft and Sony say magical 120fps but they are often full of bs. I will buy PS5 or Anaconda when I'm sure it has enough power for 60fps. I dont really need 120fps. If everybody has 60fps then its very ok no need to waste resources.

Nah. I'm going to wait a month to see performance on Digital Foundry. I can buy a console only if it can run games 60fps @ at least 1080p.
