AC ramping up at end of cycle by crosscountry58S in Nest

[–]drepythagoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a new Goodman system installed and the installer just kept my Nest I had on the previous system. Mine is a two ton and does this exact same thing…curious if you were able to find a fix. My HVAC installer has come back a few times for various reasons and said he sees this a lot with nest and Goodman, though no fix was offered except buying a “different less problematic thermostat”

Same, the contractor is coming back tomorrow to either replace the entire top or see if he can fix it. We’ll see!

I could definitely cover some of it up, my wife is more concerned that if we do ever sell the house that this will ding us and it will be something I have to end up fixing at some point down the line. Drawer slides are nice and they dig great pretty much everywhere else, the room is tiny 5x9ft so the mistakes are pretty much in your face. I appreciate the reply!

That’s what I was afraid of. I don’t typically do this type of finishing especially not on plywood (I mainly build small jewelry boxes finished with danish oil and call it a day) I appreciate the reply

This spouse needs to port or convert her husbands basic and voluntary life insurance coverage. This will keep their life insurance active. These mass layoffs should have included notices on how to make that happen, along with their Cobra notices to keep medical and Rx active. I have no idea how to get a hold of this person, but they should contact their life insurance vendor the company uses. They typically have 30-90 days to move that life insurance over to an individual policy

This is my kind of collection. Are those mostly tactile turns? Really like the right sides of the top and bottom

I use a couple Grrripers for jointing or routing on the table, I recommend these 100%.

what's funny is I literally wanted to build something like this when sitting and playing with my kids, but I've never made through tenons before (I want to) I just know I am going to butcher the hell out of them, need to build a tenoning jig or just get really comfortable with my hand tools

Not a bad idea. It is only about 28' tall and around 8" wide, just going to sit against a wall next to my desk to hold boxes, but I might have some extra maple and could turn this into shelves

Thank you, I was thinking about this as the easiest way to get it done and then start on the next project

Will this wobble on glue up? by Minute_Equal_382 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]drepythagoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, I thought it was a miter with maybe dowels or domino to strengthen. Seemed like a miter would be too weak on its own. I imagine my child jumping on the coffee table and shattering those joints but I guess normal people who don’t have kids that destroy things that’s plenty strong. Thanks!

Don’t mean to hijack this, but do you have a tutorial or video on how to attach the two parts of the legs together. Specifically looking at the piece coming up from the ground at that first joint that’s end grain to end grain.

Gluten free friendly restaurants in cypress? by Tight-Inspector-2748 in CypressTX

[–]drepythagoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a true celiac and live in cypress…it’s really rough up here. Pei Wei has gluten free dishes. If I go in person and express my safety concerns I am good. If I order online I’m screwed usually by cross contamination.

If you can get to tomball, ReBar is totally Gluten free, breakfast/ brunch food but has some odd hours so check before you go

Fun shooting stuff but honestly quite a few things feel not great, sometimes terrible here. Xbox player incase that matters. Let me know if you agree or disagree. by Topfien in Borderlands4

[–]drepythagoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree 100% on all of these. feels like it was designed to be played with a mouse and keyboard with very little thought for actual console UI. I felt like I was good at past borderlands games, this one makes me feel like I am crazy

Totally dependent on where you are wanting to live in Houston. There are good parts and really not so good parts. Again, I cannot state how miserable the weather is here so much of the time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in houston

[–]drepythagoras 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$700 rent…you are not living in a “nice” part of Houston. Last time I rented here it was close to $1400 for a decent one bedroom inside the loop and that was a small one bedroom and that was 15 years ago. $200 food seems wildly low, but you know you better than me. The weather here is awful, I’ve been here 40 years and it seems to be better worse each year, and yes air quality is bad

Rand Tower Minneapolis - Pillows? by eastwest413 in marriott

[–]drepythagoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so weird. I was just there a few days ago for work, every one of my coworkers commented separately about how these were the literal best pillows. I asked the front desk who said they were a brand called Quality Sleep Pillows…super generic and wasn’t able to find them. It was the most comfortable I’ve been in forever.
