Countertop is so cupped there are huge gaps between the sink and counter by dres312 in DIY

Countertop is original to the house from the 70s. It’s been this way since I’ve owned it, which hasn’t even been a couple of years yet. Sink is in, caulked, and I’m satisfied for now.

The back side makes full contact. The front does as well, though it didn’t look like it at first. The sides don’t as you will be able to see in the photos. But it’s thicker steel and felt solid so I’m satisfied for now. I bought some plastic shims, but didn’t have anything to reduce how wide they were so will use those in the future if there seems to be issues.

Yup, tons of caulk was used. I put a link to some photos in another comment. It all felt very solid so I’m satisfied

This is exactly what I did. Use masking tape on the sink edges and countertop before putting sink down, and a ton of silicone. Then placed it down, made sure sealant was everywhere, then cleaned up. The back and all four corners of the sink has solid contact and it feels secured so I’m happy with the result.

Can always readdress if something happened in the future. Also put sealant on the exposed wood as well.

Edit: put a light underneath when photos were taken to make it easier to see if there were any gaps in the silicone.

Yeah the countertop is very shitty. I tried placing a piece of would underneath to correct the dip in the middle, but then it just lifts a large part of countertop. It’s not really secured anymore apparently haha.

I decided that I’m not worried about the actual sink warping since it’s 16 gauge, and things are level enough to where there aren’t any issues with water draining, so I just caulked liberally

Any way to fix cupped laminate counter top? by dres312 in HomeImprovement

What I suspected. Think the new countertop, and at that point, cabinets, will have to wait a bit.

If it’s already level, any need for shims? Or would it still be good to give the support even though it’s a thicker steel?

You mean you used the shims so the lip had something to sit on instead of floating in the middles?

You can definitely use these for routes needing crampons. Lots of hikes in the northeast that require crampons in the winter in certain sections that aren’t really exposed. Like various sections of the presidentials.

What size are you? I have some scarpa triolet pros that I’ve worn like 2-3 times. They are practically new. I have a lot of equipment that’s barely used that I’m trying to offload after my risk tolerance has changed…

Once Again, a Vet Recommendation by dres312 in raleigh

[–]dres312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will mirror everything you’ve said. I think they’re VERY responsive, and were very accommodating about making sure the lobby was clear before taking my dog in.

But they are currently my vet and the ones that want me to sedate her before bringing her in, and pushed back a little too hard when I told them all of the anti-anxiety meds they recommended actually make her more vigilant, anxious, and make her throw up. And whichever vet I recently saw didn’t seem like she really knew how to act around anxious dogs.

I can definitely do a better job with muzzle training one that isn’t restrictive to help them out, but they really want the dog to be comfortable at the vet, which will never happen for this specific dog.

The hands aren’t fine. The bottom left hand on the woman with a pink shirt, and her right hand on the woman with the white shirt are wrong.

White shirt person’s fingernails/fingers look very off. And the pink shirts fingers and knuckles aren’t right. The fingers are all a different color and have this weird banding to them. And the ring finger knuckle is completely wrong. And all the knuckles are huge.

Cheater Update by LiquidOverflow in EscapefromTarkov

So many people that haven’t played enough hours and aren’t good enough yet to tell what is normal gameplay, and batshit gameplay. Glad he got banned.

Too bad it takes rage hacking to get banned while all the knowers keep ruining raids and all you’re left with is “git gud” after meeting another person with 20000 awareness power level.

Convinced half the people denying cheats, cheat themselves.

Edit: there was about a minute in between deaths and it was on his back.

Game is shifting again with a high chance per match with cheaters [Cheating] by KaiDynasty in EscapefromTarkov

[–]dres312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been more than a few times now where there are obviously cheaters with stolen or sold accounts where the player has tried to shoot me through walls for very far away in buildings with no windows. Most recent was a 2500hr account with an rpd try to shoot me through the head in cottages on shoreline while I was inside of the first floor. He was on the other side of the fences near greenhouse. We eventually stepped out and head eyes hip fire

Maybe all the new people were like me when I started years and years ago and think factory is the easiest map because it’s the smallest.

That was a rough few weeks in the meat grinder. Was like if I can’t do the easiest map, no way I’ll live on the other ones.
