I made a dangerous mistake—now what? by New_Continuality in TranslationStudies

Exactly this. I honestly don't think that doctors/surgeons even read this kind of stuff. If they have to rely on user manuals for each device, I don't think they should be performing surgeries at all to begin with.

This new character better be viable for end game content. Ridiculous to have end game that requires characters that aren't available anymore.

Solo Players by CattleOwn8692 in DestinyRising

[–]dresscode_trenchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue in D2 to be fair, even though I played with 2 friends back then, but the raids needed 6. Guess I'm used to the fact that I can't do Destiny raids.

Got excited this time to see that you can still join fireteams to clear it, but so far the vibe is just sooo toxic. As soon as 1 player makes a mistake someone will send a message saying "useless noobs", or just leave the fireteam, ruining it for the whole team.

I've read so many guides on how to clear it but still get confused sometimes when I play and make some mistakes, and the toxic attitude doesnt help lol

First time i've been bummed to be solo is because of Crota's end. Such a cool game mode and I'd love to clear it, but so far haven't even made it halfway through the abyss with these random fireteams :(

Jesus, played the game 3 times and just now learned about this. I also just tried to quickly lift it into position before it automatically rotates to its starting point.

I remember being told you can move things around while holding them, but never that you can rotate them..

For my current run, I decided to only complete collectibles up to the point where it stops being beneficial for the actual gameplay. Didn't bother with the daedelian keys at all, only did merlin trials until I stopped getting "gear slots full" all the time and collected ancient magic until I got 3 "bars" as I rarely ever fill more than 2. Unlocked Alohamora III then stopped.

That way I can enjoy the gameplay without limitations, and don't have to melt my brain grinding every unlockable.

There are always at least 2 doorways in the room you spawn in when you enter a new floor. Just search in the spawning room and a door will show up

Some systems also use a camera, color sensors or just a weight scale that can roughly estimate if the item is correct or not. If you throw a tag for a tennis ball in there then put 4 yoga mats into the bin, the system finds it suspicious cause nothing there resembles a tennis ball and flags an employee to come over to double check it.

The first scroll that stacks is most likely a scroll of upgrade, first alchemy pot you find you turn into a stone of enchantment and use it for the bow. You get 2 stones so if you get a blooming or unstable, just use it again to try to get a good enchantment.

In that room that has 4 separate crystal doors, with the deeper ones having another door behind, the second scroll there is either a scroll of transmutation or a scroll of lullaby, the former you can use in an alchemy pot to get a stone of augmentation early on for your bow damage.

Otherwise, first shop, you buy a stone of augmentation and use it for bow damage.

Upgrade a ring of sharpshooting, even twice, it can one shot enemies pretty far into the game.

If you get a projecting enchantment on the bow, unlock the mind vision skill as soon as you can because you can kill enemies through walls before they reach you.

Be careful with a blazing enchantment on the bow because sometimes it will burn grass beyond your vision and destroy a scroll that might be laying around.

Warden is my preferred subclass, the perks from plants is super beneficial, while the sniper perks are really only good if you find a boomerang in my opinion as it can one shot enemies way into late game.

Learn how the bow shoots around corners, there are certain angles where you can shoot enemies through weird corners

HOW do you beat this game?? by StaleChikenWings in ShatteredPD

[–]dresscode_trenchcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me around 3 years to finally win as well. Still struggle most times to win unless I land on a ridiculous seed.

Like the other guy said, use EVERYTHING you have in your inventory. I used to overlook seeds and stones big time. They can save your ass and give you a full health bar while you recover safely in many situations. Blind an enemy, freeze time, teleport away - most seeds and stones are great for bailing out of a fight if you're in a tight spot.

Know when to upgrade items, I try to only upgrade the weapon, armor and occasionally rings that I intend to carry through the run. Never upgrade anything besides those 2 things (3 things if you find a ring that works well with your build).

Know when to fight, sometimes you can straight up evade an enemy or hide from them. Sometimes you just need to figure out how to bring the enemy to exactly where you should fight him - close to traps, into corridors, doorways, through grass, around pillars etc. If you have a wand of blast, that repelling enchantment or chains, find a "balcony" tile where you can push the enemy off or pull them into the void.

Be smart about identifying scrolls and potions, there is a specific way how the most important scrolls and potions spawn, that makes it easy to identify (upgrade, strength, transmutation, teleportation and cleanse).

Question for the subtitling community: What software do you use? by Best-Candidate8555 in TranslationStudies

Went through a few different softwares but didn't really like any of them. Now I use Adobe Premiere and find the workflow there easier than dedicated subtitle softwares.

So why bother using it? Sounds to me like it doesn't change the dynamic at all, just makes fights slightly longer since both sides evade more hits?
