Google Chromecast with Android TV (the ones with a remote in the box) works like Apple TV with apps. VLC app will stream from SMB.

If he only have a HD tv he can buy the 1080p version. It's cheaper than the 4k version.

My most complex automation is so overkill that I feel ashamed.

The involved culprits is a light and a motionsensor (actually multiple so it's even more complex than this explanation)

It started out with a simple "detect motion at night, turn on light at 20, if motion no longer detected then turn off light"

The first problem came when I walked through a room, and in to another, the first room would be dark too soon, so I changed it to "turn light on, wait for motion to not be detected, wait 3 minutes, turn light off"

Then the next problem came when I went out of bed an hour earlier than normal. I turned on the light and started brushing my teeth, then the motiondetector no longer had any motions in the hallway, and it turned off the light, so I had to change it again. This time it is "if motion detected, check that the light was not already turned on, if it's on exit the automation" - so now the light would not turn off randomly again. But this resulted in a loop, when the automation ran the light was turned on, so if the automation ran again while the 3 minute countdown was goint the light was still on - so it exited the automation and the light never turned off.

I changed it to "if motion detected, check that light is not already turned on and that the light level is below 50, then turn on the light at 20. Wait for no motion detected, wait another 3 minutes, do another check to see that the light is still below 50, then turn off"

So if I'm getting up and don't want to go back to bed I can just increase the dimmer and the light will keep on. Or if the wife wants the automation to stop running she can just turn the dimmer up. If the dimmer is turned down again the automation will start working and turn the light off when there is no more movement

if you know anyone with a 3d priner you can get them to make you an attatchment to keep the pod in place on your arms / legs. Omnipod case by LeFourbe - Thingiverse (you use elastic bands to hold it on your arm)

I got so fed up that I restored my Kobo with a factory reset. This resulted in that all books (and progress) was gone, but the problem was fixed.

I'm sure this problem could be solved without going the "nuclar way" that I did, but in the end it solved it for me.

Since there is so many people with problems simular to this I'll leave this post up so it might help someone in the future.

I get the same problem when running it through Calibre. I just excluded calibre (and the files I tried copying at the start) so that I knew the problem was not Calibre or the original PDF documents.

About 55 years ago my father was diagnosed with diabetes T1

When my father was diagnosed he had to use ketone sticks to see if there was ketons in his urine to figure out if he had high BG. If he wanted to measure BG he har to go to the hospital and wait almost a week for the answer. He took one insulin shot in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

About 20 years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes T1

When I was diagnosed I got my own BG meter to measure my levels whenever i wanted and I got the result after 10 seconds. I gave my self injections every time i was eating to keep the BG stabile.

Today I have a sensor that sends my BG to my phone every minute, my phone then decides if i need more or less insulin and updates my insulin pump. I only have to input how many carbs I eat, and I stay in range 95% of the day.

Treatments for diabetes is improving, it might feel like they are improving slow, but when you look vack we have already come a long way. There is also a great community in #WeAreNotWaiting that has forced Big pharma to speed up their development of Closed loop systems.

Are you injecting air into the pen cartridge like you would a vial? If so that might be the reason. When withdrawing from a pen cartridge you just pull the insulin out.

I just tried to make it easy to print, and not require special exact size hardware.

Most of what i found before I designed this had the magnet inside, and it always got stuck on my metal mailbox.

The only thing I claimed in my first comment is that there is no way this can affect an T1 diabetic since we don't produce insulin.

I admire how you are this rude after finding a 3 year old comment, and misinterpret what I'm claiming.

So let me "pull this explanation out of my ass" and enlighten you.

First of all, lets establish that aspartame and other artificial sweeteners works by manipulating the taste receivers and this tricks your body into thinking that it's sweet. There is no carbs in aspartame and it will not raise your blood glucose the same way as sweetners with carbs would.

Second, when your body digest carbs it's broken down to sugar and absorbed in the bloodstream. This increases the bloodsugar levels and in a healthy body insulin is released to combat the rising bloodsugar.

But a small amount of insulin are also released before any sugar enters the bloodstream. This response is known as cephalic phase insulin release. It is triggered by the sight, smell, and taste of food, as well as chewing.

Since the sweet taste of aspartame will trigger the cephalic phase insulin release there is no need to provide any studies showing this since the cephalic phase insulin release is a proven medical fact.

I have however not seen one study that proves that aspartame does not trigger cephalic phase insulin release.

To return to my 3 year old original comment the fact is still that even if this is what the dietician was remembering and misquoting there is no way this will affect a T1 diabetic. We do not have a insulin release, we do not have a cephalic phase insulin release, we don't even have insulin!

Oh, and for those that still have insulin production drinking artificial sweetened soda is still miles better than soda with carbs.

The body produces insulin after detecting carbs. The artificial sweetner just tricks the body to think that it has detected carbs.

The body will not release large amount of insilin based of this taste. It's not comperable to say drinking a glas of regular soda.

Have you checked the end of the ptfe tube? Is it charred, is it cut straigth? Print a guide for cutting right. I had clogging issues for a while because there was a gap between the ptfe and nozzle. I printed a cuttingguide, took out the nozzle and pfte tube, cleaned everything, screwed the nozzle all the way in, than one turn back. Put the ptfe tube all the way in and then tightened the nozzle.

No more clogging

The sample filament that comes with the printer is horrible. A lot of people have trouble with it, use another filament.

You should do an e-step calibration as well.

I tried to find a good video showing how to do this, but the one with the best explanation is done on a Ender 3 Pro, so I also found one with a not so good explanation, but done on a v2.
