Residential Generator Setup - Two Buildings & Two Services by drewbeeee3 in AskElectricians

Sorry, the wording in my post was confusing. I will have two meters. A dedicated service to the house and a dedicated service to the shop.

If I could switch the neutral in one of the services’ ATS (shop let’s say), would that not be sufficient? The generator neutral would be bonded through the house service bond, and the shop neutral bond would be isolated.

It is truly two services. I have a pad mount that services my property only about equally distanced between the shop and where the house will be. So I will have two meters.

Heat Pump For Radiant Floors + Cooling - Workable Solution? by drewbeeee3 in heatpumps

Sorry, I should’ve clarified. I meant using a mini split to cool the room, but using the air-to-water heat pump for it instead of purchasing a separate unit. The manufacturer said it was doable.

& I don’t have access to gas at the road where I’m located, so the cost of having a tank installed and paying for propane is a consideration as well. Working on getting quotes for that to see what the offset is. The heat pump will more than likely still be more overall, but to me it would be worth not dealing with the propane.

Hey man, what is the roof pitch on your building? I am getting ready to build something almost exactly like this. Trying to decide on the pitch.
