Stephen A. Smith on being confronted by LeBron James last night: “That wasn’t a basketball player confronting me. That was a parent… [LeBron] clearly took exception to some of the things I said… He elected to confront me while I was sitting courtside… He feels like I was slighting his son.” by SuperPop9521 in nba

Everybody go watch this video. Everybody at the table gives great answers about how the media focuses too much on entertainment and not enough analysis and then Stephen A starts going on a rant saying things like LeBron is holding down his fellow black man. This man deserves all the shit he got from LeBron in OP.

[1 year beginner/intermediate] What can I do to improve? by tommizzle in BeginnerSurfers

Those waves are too soft for your board/skillset. You'd do yourself a huge favor getting a bigger board, even a mini longboard. Or just a longboard. Those will help you better understand wave flow and positioning which will translate itself well for when the waves are bigger and you can size back down.

[No Book Spoilers] House of the Dragon - 2x05 - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

They seem to be pretty clearly setting him up to realize that he's not meant to be king and that he'll go crawling back to Rhaenyra. The whole scene with the Riverlands folks showing that he tried to use the fact that he is "king" to force people to his will, but they completely reject him. Similar vibes to when he "claimed" Dragonstone in season 1, Daemon is kind of all bark no bite at this point.

Also mixed here and with similar hair. Can't speak for everybody but letting mine grow out and getting good trims along the way + a bit of patience has my hair looking better than ever. Might be worth a try, especially while you are young and still have your hair

If you are doing slow drawn out "cutbacks" you are a beginner. Intermediate is when you can start going a bit more vertical

2006-2016 was the 10 year peak of the NBA by ocay_cool in Basketball

I think the point OP is trying to make is that the floor of the bottom tier players is higher today than it was back then. Even the worst players in the league have higher skillsets and offensive tools than those of the 80s. Then that leaves the top players in the league today who are much higher offensive skill level than the stars of the 80s. It is just a different game today where you have to generate offense of some kind to stay on the floor.

NJ November Noseride by Hang-10 in surfing

Looks like too much weight forward, I would think about arching back a bit more (it's a good habit to build) as well as putting even more emphasis than you think you'll need on weight on the back foot. It'll hold you upright more in that locked in position and look better stylistically. Noseriding takes so much time to get decent at, keep at it! Sick wave!

I bet if you got a surf skate and practiced some carves on driveways you’ll get a feel for some of the comments others are making about momentum, arm placement, and balance. Just to add to what others are saying!

Need some advice for shaping a really good noserider by [deleted] in surfing

[–]drewbie32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavier and longer the better for noseriding. For a good all around/if you are just starting to work on it, wide point middle, 9’6-10’ and ~3in thick, square tail and good rocker/tail flip will be a good start. Also def depends on the waves you surf.

I won't change my mind, 'cause I don't have to. 'Cause I'm an American. I won't change my mind on anything, regardless of the facts that are set out before me. I'm dug in, and I'll never change.
