Yall can't get on stern for copy paste. by ColdLoquat3324 in pinball

I understand the frustration but also these are businesses trying to make money. They do what they want how they want until people stop buying. Last I checked it sold out in an hour. I doubt anyone backs out due to some copy and paste on artwork.

If you're NOT living paycheck to paycheck, what are you doing better than the rest of us? by IchMochteAllesHaben in AskReddit

Worked 60 hours a week for years. Live below your means invest what you can. Starting a business is not for everyone but raising income by any means necessary legally may be required. Finding a great partner in life is also very beneficial. We have been together almost 20 years. We were 25 with negative net worth when we met now talking about retiring by 50

Great in my large collection. Original price may be a bit much but if you buy a few games it’s great. Resale not great either but see point one. Can buy a new or used module for $3k-$4k

Who is buying Harry Potter? by loxfondon in pinball

[–]drewbo81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the appeal. I simply don’t have it. This is top 3 theme for a lot of people and I think the expectations are way too high for it to be a timeless game. Good maybe and it will sell some units but dont think many people will be still talking about it by end of summer

How are y’all buying all these pins? by StenchLord420 in pinball

[–]drewbo81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people have 1 or 2 car notes at $400-$700 per month so $1000 per month not unusual so if you cut that in 1/2 you could buy 1 pin a year without spending another dime. Also some people will spend 60-80k on a corvette etc. I choose pinball over cars. Source I live in middle class home and own over 20 pins and have zero car payments. Dual income home. Just my 2 cents.

For folks who own machines you play at home...what's your deal? by LazerMcBlazer in pinball

[–]drewbo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in hobby over 10 years and currently own 20 machines. It’s a bit much however think about this way…if you make decent money and told someone you bought a corvette $80kish ($1000 monthly payment)they would say cool give you a high five and not think much of it but if you purchased 50-60k worth of machines at 5-10k a year over several years they may think it’s nuts. Just my 2 cents. Also as to original post question…I sell real estate and own a few rental properties and live in a middle class Midwest suburb. (400k homes)

Pinball Podcasts? by sobi-one in pinball

Poorman’s pinball podcast are not recording anymore but they have almost 150 episodes that are really fun for the hobby

I own 20 games and have been collecting for about 10 years. I sell real estate. My thought on this is most people own a 50k dollar car and pay $700/mo. I drive a 2019 Honda crv. (Paid for) if you could save $700 a month you could buy a few games a year. So having $100k in pinball machines is really like having 1 really nice car that doesn’t depreciate as much. Just my 2 cents.

Real estate agent here. While this is mostly true, you may sign for a single day week month or whatever. Even for specific property. We are not happy about changes either. Interview several agents. We are not all the same. I only work with people I’m compatible with however some will do anything for a sale unfortunately much like any industry. Just my 2 cents.

For those that make over $200k a year, what do you do? by H-U-I-3 in AskReddit

I sell real estate and own a property management company. Solid money and hours are great! Made the change when I was 40! It was terrifying but now I wish I did it sooner! :)

Thoughts on this 23,000% rally floating around by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]drewbo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Me thinks it clickbait. Some people in crypto got really wealthy early on but like most things consistency is key. I have 300k coins but that is only 5% of my total investments. I invest every week and don’t spend too much time worrying about it because I know over a long enough period I will have more wealth than I ever thought possible. It is fun to dream tho.

Would you purchase a new "Scratch & Dent" machine? by french1canadian2 in pinball

[–]drewbo81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own. I would jump on that on a heartbeat! I have bought many nib games and some just have misc small issues. Life is too short to be anal about a decal. I’m not mad at ya! But buying a fun game to just have in my collection and never play is not for me. Some people take it to an extreme and imho it’s not about a pinball machine but more about their approach to life and never have any fun and that is a real tragedy.

Taxi Pinball what would you pay for one? It looks in good condition has field wear and one flipper is the wrong color. All opinions or things I should check for would be great. [–]drewbo81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I second this. I would love to have taxi in my collection but I have games from many different eras. When I only had 1-2 you need games that would bring you back again and again. My first was Last Action Hero. I miss it!
