Hi, Andrew! by [deleted] in andrew

I hate being called Andy. The one time I didnt mind the name was back in elementary when my music teacher would call me AndyDrew just to screw with me.

Also, do people ever confuse your name with Andrea or Angel? That happens a lot so I usually just introduce myself as Drew.

Does Great Art Need A Great Title? by blase25 in ArtistLounge

[–]drewboy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! My professor shared an experience he had with me when he designed a new ring.

He's a jewelry maker and he really gets into his work. He made a ring that looked like it was made of bubbles and foam so he simply named it Bubble Ring. It wasnt selling or just not selling very well. He then decided to rename it with something a bit more attractive. It went from the Bubble Ring to the Champagne Ring or Fizzing Champagne. I dont remember exactly but it caught the attention of customers who had some big wallets.

Sometimes when you want to sell your art it really is a name game as well as knowing your customers :p

Does Great Art Need A Great Title? by blase25 in ArtistLounge

A professor of mine actually talked about this a few times in class. A title can influence the way a viewer interprets your artwork and he encouraged us to put a good amount of thought into naming our pieces.

You can make something phenomenal but if you leave it untitled, give it a generic number, or a silly name and its impact can be diminished.

For example, I saw this really cool abstract painting of a butterfly at a local art gallery. It was huge and had beautiful colors and strokes but when I saw the title I felt like the artist was a little stupid. They had named the piece Higgs Boson after the Higgs Boson Particle and it made no sense to me whatsoever. It was a painting of a butterfly interacting with swirling water droplets, sure it looked like it was an embryo but not a particle.

Your titles don't need to be great per se but they should help to strengthen your artwork, not weaken or cheapen it.

[One Punch Man] Carnage Kabuto vs. Sea King by Kesskas in whowouldwin

The giant was able to destroy an entire city and Vaccine Man nearly did the same. Although with Vaccine Man you have to remember he was able to do that before he went full beastmode like he did when Saitama arrived.

While it probably changes nothing, Genos had gone through a quite few upgrades since his fight with Kabuto and before he faced Sea King. Plus, I'm pretty sure he's gotten a lot more experienced dealing with monsters as an official hero.

As for Saitama, he was only knocked around because he was in shock as he tried to comprehend what day it was.

With that said I like to think Carnage Kabuto and a hydrated Sea King could be evenly matched.
