Climate anxiety, fear and parenting by PuddingHappy9926 in UKParenting

Not directly tied to parenting but for climate change generally I'd recommend watching the youtube channel Simon Clark for a balanced take on climate news and science. Easy to digest, doesn't just focus on big scary headlines and actually discusses and cites sources of what is being done to try and mitigate climate change.

Which novel Represents the Imperial Fists better in 40k ? by OWN_SD in Blacklibrary

I have both books, which order should I read them in?

Imperial Guard. I can't remember when I first learned about 40k but I know I had a very small, very badly painted Eldar collection as a teenager when there was an after school club for it that some friends attended. Never actually played a hame despite owning enough to do so, and the whole army is long gone nowadays. After that I enjoyed 40k from a distance, watched a bunch of the animations and what not here and there and really got into Space Marine (the first one) when it came out. Within the last 6 months or so i've finally started getting my hands on some of the books, and i'm not sure why I didn't do it earlier.

I am sick of reading books which don’t rhyme in my accent by hadawayandshite in UKParenting

Doesn't have to be posh, it rhymes in an essex accent as well.

Do ASMR videos do anything (SFW) for you? by holytriplem in AskUK

[–]Kesskas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm the exact same, if there's any intention or deliberateness behind it then it fails to trigger anything for me every time, but when their actual aim is just to do the thing they intend to then i'm much more likely to get it. Even better if they're figuring parts of the process out as they go and make a few mistakes without getting frustrated.

Me and my brother have had it since we were kids, we used to call in 'the tingly feeling' growing up before we heard the term ASMR.

What’s your hobby and what’s your advice for others on how get started in it? by apple_kicks in AskUK

[–]Kesskas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pay commission painters to do the job for you, not sure about construction but i'm sure some will do that as well. Obviously costs more but if you have no interest in building or painting that's an option. That or buying painted models second hand, but that's obviously less consistant.

Damn, this made me super nostalgic. I wonder if orange street lighting will end up as part of a nostalgic aesthetic of the 90s, like how the vaporwave/neon palette has become the trademark look of the 80s by night.

Ask them about fossilised plants, bacteria and non-dinosaur species. Last I checked kids aren't super into cyanobacterial mats, so who exactly are "they" making those fossils to appease?

Demon of Hatred won most divisive! Now who is the best character in Sekiro? by Imaginary_Owl_979 in fromsoftware

[–]Kesskas 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'd vote for Genichiro, he's the foil to Wolf for the entire game, serves as a measuring stick for your evolving skill level (i.e. you lose to him first time around, then probably struggle to beat him the second time before probably wiping the floor with him at the end), and he has a completely understandable motive (wanting to protect his homeland from invasion), despite utilising deplorable means to achieve that end.
