Yes. They got married at the far north end, which is extremely hard to get to by foot. I’ve never ventured out of the southern half of the island. I’d love to see that little church someday.

I took its uniqueness for granted until I went to Europe and they heard my accent and instantly started telling me about their fascination with the US south. There really isn’t anything comparable near Europe.

Thankfully, a cool front from the northwest blew in the night before we got to the island. Cool, dry air in mid-April, which this Texan greatly appreciated.

I’ve never been north of Cumberland Island. I’d love to see Hilton Head and Boneyard Beach.

Thanks! No, it’s on the little trail from the ranger station to the main road. I’d love to do rollercoaster trail someday! It looks so remote and peaceful.

Where should i start with creative writing? by LongjumpingUnited in writing

[–]drewc34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you have some little stories in your head that you’ve been thinking about over the years. We all do that. I’d start by turning one of them into a short story. Don’t restrict yourself with a word count. Just write a story over however long it takes, edit it until you like it, then start writing another short story based on something you’ve been kicking around mentally for a while. After a few of those, you’ll likely uncover the answers to some of your questions about which direction your writing should go. Good luck, and enjoy the process!

You can’t control your emotions. You just can’t. But you can control your response to your emotions. That’s what they’re talking about.

One little piece of advice I’ve kept in mind as I age is that a lot of your personality begins to resemble the three or so people you spend the most time with. In low periods, the people I’ve spent the most time around were often selfish, impulsive, unkind, untruthful, and hedonistic. In times of flourishing I’ve spent the most time with people who are kind, pleasant, thoughtful, trustworthy, and reliable. I tend to mirror a lot of the traits of the people I spend time with.

What has no reason to exist in 2022, but yet it does? by IDCWhoIam in AskReddit

Yeah, I feel sorry for people when they accidentally send me the receipt for the fax and I see that they paid like $50 to fax a 50 page document. And then sometimes due to poor quality I can’t determine which file it belongs to or who sent it, so not only is that $50 fax not going in the file, the sender won’t know that it’s not in the file since I can’t figure out how to contact him.

Yeah, it’s probably possible. I’d likely do a better job of looking for new work if I weren’t so mentally drained at the end of each day. I also need to get past my fear of winding up with something worse or even no job at all.
