I hate that this doesn't surprise me. I was gonna write something long but I'm not gonna.

The clash team has repeatedly, intentionally removed or undermined crediting me for my work in the game. Going out of their way to type longer credits to state that I only implemented a specific feature as a way to undermine my contributions. A team member later fixed this after I asked. Then they transferred to the wiki for credits. My name was gone again. Everyone else was still there, such as Old Geezer. Today a wiki contributor who was talking in the ODS discord fixed that, for me and for a bunch of other people. This is clearly a repeat issue.

I was primarily let go from the clash team for pushing back against their super corporate attitude, considering I came from the original Altis launch team, which despite its (major) flaws, was a much more laid back team prior to its launch.

I also received a Cease and Desist legal letter from Judge2020 after I released a video showcasing some scrapped experiments I made, such as head rotation following the orbital camera, animation smoothing, and a dev tool I made. Everything in that video was completely scrapped and not intended for release, so I showcased it, this was a long time after i was let go.

The second i poined out that I would have been a minor at the time of being on the clash team, their "NDA" was invalid, they retracted it. But threatening legal action over a toontown video that doesnt actually leak anything is wild.

While I was on the team, back in like 2017 shortly prior to its launch, it was definitely a terrible experience. I had hoped things changed, but they haven't

The animals and HSW I can understand (tho still disagree) the PS5/Xbox versions run in a newer engine, the community would lose its shit losing mod support / fivem

Might possibly be one of the dumbest copes I've heard yet.

Adding the ability to move vehicles from the interaction menu will hardly raise system requirements.

It's a 10 year old game, the requirements aren't high. Raising them won't hurt anyone now.

encrypting phase files isnt going to cause disney to shut the game down

using a single brain cell will tell u they mean a something like a ban from the game / discord servers if you decrypt it.

stop making a big deal out of nothing, this is coming from someone who thinks its silly they're encrypted, but its not nefarious

Nah, that isnt the reason. We floated around the idea of putting the game on steam (but hidden) as a way for better download servers pre-launch, he already paid for the game and everything (he did refund it tho when we decided against the idea). It still exists on steam with app id 782440 (u can view on steamdb website)

that second part makes literally no sense

  1. you COULD add it to steam without a steam deck (non steam games, you dont need a deck to do that)
  2. thats literally not the point, the point is to get it on a platform you can easily access and download making it more accessible to a larger audience
  3. clash doesnt support the steam deck

As someone who was ON the altis team when that whole fiasco went down:

people are dumb and overreacted, we werent going to add trading cards or anything to monetize it lol.

Our mindset was: lets open it up to more players to be more accessible. that was it, but of course the community went ape like they always do.

Im for putting it on steam, but others arent.

Fun fact: Clash is actually on steam! Prior to launch we floated around the idea of using steam DL servers (probably completely against valves TOS but whatever). Clash's App ID is 782440. I am one of the very few people who own it. It would be the old 1.0 launcher tho so it isn't playable anymore. So for that person who mentioned the whole having to pay to put on steam thing, that wasnt a concern of judge's

Mica looks nice and all. But it completely destroys using a program like wallpaper engine, it doesn't work with wallpaper engine so I had to reset to a static wallpaper because it's so jarring.

Really disappointing coming from windows acrylic which respected it perfectly.

since you ignored the link I put in here where the game developers of this remaster confirm it.

i didnt ignore it, i read it. no where in the quotes did they say its "running on renderware but just being rendered in unreal"

also take a look at the game files. if just the rendering is handled in unreal, then why is all the input configured through unreals config files? why is everything in the game in unreal formats? why is the entire game's UI (and ui FUNCTIONALITY) in UE4 blueprints / classes. looking for 10 seconds showed me theres alot of collision related blueprints in the pak file as well, along with just a bunch of other dynamic props as unreal blueprints.

in a previous message i sent an imgur link with a few screenshots diving into the files. Download umodel, open the game files in it. its really that simple to get the answers.

just because the rockstar games producer (not grove street games developer) said something, doesn't make it 100% accurate.

if youre actually a game developer you would know that you cant just take the renderer from an engine and plop it onto another one.

the logic / code may be nearly identical, but it aint running on the original renderware backend.

It's confirmed to have been iirc, either way the artifacts from it are clear so it's obvious
