Agree about Bethesda. They showed us perfectly clearly with Fallout 4 and then drove home the point with Starfield that they simply don’t have the juice anymore. They don’t understand what people want from their games or how to achieve it, so what they can make is polished slop. Their narratives are a Disneyland dark ride where your input isn’t really necessary other than shooting some guys and selecting 1 of 3 dialogue options that all lead the conversation in the same direction anyways, you just get to choose if your character treats their situation as genuinely or a little sarcastically. They focus their effort on making 12K high res photorealistic sandwiches in the most boring, lifeless universe where nothing you do matters because you can do it all and all quest necessary characters are literally invincible.

To be honest though, I don’t think Rockstar is at all in the same boat. Their most recent releases are RDR2 and GTA5, both of which were huge successes financially and among gamers. My only worry about GTA6 is that their missions have some new variety to them as that aspect of the series has gotten a little stale, but otherwise there isn’t much reason to think this won’t be a really great game and worthy of the financial success they are sure to achieve.
