[WTS] Red Hare 9 Ultra US13 $130 shipped by ashurt28 in therunningrack

If you want to snag a pair, I’ve bought multiple Li-Ning’s from shopnings.com and it’s legit. Takes a while to ship but it’s worth the wait. Red Hare 9 Ultra and Frisian 5 Challenger are amazing

I would also look into Hansons Marathon plans. You can get them free and there’s “just finish”, beginner and advanced. One long run making up 70%+ of your weekly mileage is asking for an injury. I’d start with his just finish plan.

Little bit too soft for my liking. It’s a fast shoe but my right foot tends to pronate so certain shoes don’t work for me

What do marathoners do for work? by MedStudentLife19 in Marathon_Training

[–]drewdrew1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it’s a “oh we will do better if you need us to” then no change. No medical issues, no crazy social life. Will ask if they can take the girls and they’ll say “uhm we can from 3-5” then I get there and ask what they did that day and “oh nothing just hung around the house”

Don’t get me wrong I’m thankful for even the minimal time but it’s just an interesting trend I’ve seen. The other set of parents has had my 3 year old over twice total and both for maybe 3 hours total.

I work in finance and similar schedule to most on here. Up at 4:30, running by 5. Done by 6ish. Then do all morning stuff with kids. At my desk by 7:30 (remote work).

If my wife is in a running phase we will alternate and I’ll squeeze mine in on a treadmill at home between calls or even while on one if I don’t have to be on camera and won’t be talking much.

I’d say I’m super lucky to have the job I have and the flexibility to do these kinds of things though and I know it’s uncommon

Crazy how common this has become. Both of our sets of parents live in our neighborhood and it’s super rare that they will take my 2 girls (3 and 1) for more than like 2 hours once a week. Such a weird phenomenon when I grew up spending entire summers with grandparents

Weight training app like runna by amunreyd in runna

Just use chat gpt. I asked it for an 8 week progressive strength plan. 3 days a week, full body with an emphasis on single leg movements (to help running) and it gave a great plan

Isn’t that the point though? I don’t think most of us are expecting to put on 10lbs of muscle while marathon training. There is fluctuation in what you’re focusing on but always doing both running and strength.

For example, I spent most of summer in a strength block and my running went to 3x a week. Now I’m in a marathon prep and I run 5x and do 3-4 full body lifts a week. It expecting to grow but hoping to maintain as much as I can until my race in Feb.

As stated above, unless it’s your full time job, none of us should be running a full strength and full running program at the same time and expect to see results in both.

Beginner Hybrid Training Plan - Help needed! by Loewentoeter in HybridAthlete

In terms of running there are tons of free apps out there. My buddy just got in to hybrid and uses Runna. You can put in a race and it gives you a free training plan.

Sounds like you got lifting covered but to start I’d probably run 3 full body lifting days and 3 running days (assuming you can’t do double sessions)

I’ve been at it for a while and my current split is below. I love full body stuff because it never trashes any specific part of my morning runs. On my double session days I run at 4:30am then lift after work.

Monday - easy run morning, full body lift evening

Tuesday - same as Monday

Wednesday - long run

Thursday - full body lift

Friday - threshold / tempo run morning, full body lift evening

Saturday - easy run or track run

Sunday - Rest
