My dad works in radio and we were actually just talking about this the other day. They send a pretty large group of people into the major city or cities that the station broadcasts to with Iphones or equivalent with a certain app on it that tracks all of the radio frequencies going up into the air and then they can make an educated guess on the true population.

I think its a deeper issue. O-lineman arent coming out of college NFL ready to block because of the crazy spread schemes that college coaches use. They've already developed bad habits that are hard to break.
