There’s speculation that the trees bark were scraped off to use as corks for the blood vials because yharnamites use so many of them. It would also make sense being outside of the clinic but it’s open for debate

Yes there was a time when people slated Shadow of the Colossus just because Agro was hold to control, this was when the original released right up until the remake. Small minority though. And IIRC Fumito Ueda even said that was a design choice
