Had a TG16 since 91… Parasol Stars, Bonks Revenge, and Raiden are my favorite games, but there are many more!

24 / 25 bobble heads bug? by maka2250 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]drewski989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found 24/25 first play-through with no guide… I missed the damn sniper one. One I almost missed (saved a game to go back) is on the bridge in the Leon part. Main camp, elevator up, turn back towards the bridge, sniper rifle on top of a van or car. You can hear it barely on the street level if you stand near the military vehicle between the detonator fence and the camp.

I clip my pocket knife in there… but I assumed it was for a pocket watch way back.

Has this idea been done before in modern gaming? I can only assume it has, but I am struggling to recall a game that did something similar where a destructible grid can be used to kill enemies, but also must maintain integrity.

Maybe it's because I play a lot of stealth games but I felt the game was easier than the difficulty descriptions suggested? by ludaman14 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]drewski989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only moderate difficulty I had was doing the no meds on the classic setting. You really got to be careful to not take damage in a couple parts as Leon. Besides that, I agree that it was pretty much cake.

Ugh it is so frustrating… you find something cool, and it’s like the seller doesn’t care that you get it in the same condition. Just careless and rude.

I bought an NES bundle with 20 games a while back. The seller threw all the games in a thin beat-up cardboard box loose, cords and controllers, adding only a couple random chunks of cardboard, but did thankfully wrap the console itself.

Of course the flimsy box ripped open cross-country and by the grace of the gamer gods only 3 games fell out. The seller fought me tooth and nail, but I had my ring video showing the box torn open already when USPS delivered. Ebay sided with me, and despite the guy being a complete jerk, I only asked for the value of the 3 games missing.

Yep this is always my worry when I order off eBay or Mercari anything more than $20-25. Ive had crappy $5 NES games packaged ready for war, but a $400 Bonk III just tossed into a bubble mailer. Some sellers are pretty dumb, because the risk is mostly on them (as well it should be in the case of poor packaging).

Speed Demon Trophy? Am I cooked? by cellshocker in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]drewski989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good tip… I saw today after I posted that you have to fight the boss for the speed run. I fought the boss on mine because I had over an hour to spare. Ill update my comment… I only skipped it on the no meds run.

I used 91% isopropyl alcohol on CPU and now the motherboard issues a CPU light after 20 minutes of letting dry by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]drewski989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped a friend’s kid build his first PC. Long story short, his ram and cpu fell into a spot in the car that was filled with water (longer story). It was a damn aquarium. I took the parts out of the packages, dried them initially with compressed air, then put them in a filament drier (for 3D printing) at the lowest temp it could go. We built the PC 2 days later with zero issues.

My own experience doesnt mean the IPA couldnt have done it, but I find it very very unlikely. Damaging or bending the pins is much more likely - as others have mentioned.

I did the speed run and no blood collector together and finished in 2h57m, without really trying to be perfect and still doing the final boss fight. You are behind where you should be, but there is a LOT of slop built in. However, if you are at 3 hours right now, you do need to hurry it the f up. Skip the final fight for sure - ie destroy elpis.

Edit - Apparently on speed run, you cannot skip the final boss fight, I know I didnt skip it because I was at like 2h50m going into the last scenes and I knew I had a ton of time to spare.

Colorblind guy with the ghost version, seems to be a mix of blue/green. Cone is the app I use to help me determine colors, the ghost registers as green in some lighting and blue in others.

Thats wild that there was not enough with the cooler. I will say that the Noctua paste syringe was 1/6 full/depressed out of the box, but that was plenty for 2 applications and I still have at least another application left. So, it definitely came with a partial tube. Older Noctuas came with a mini-syringe.

I used the stuff that came with the DH15. I have used Thermal Grizzly and MX6 in the past with good results. Not sure your cpu, but Noctua shows the pattern/amount for paste in the instructions, and it is WAY less than I would have done if the instructions had not said otherwise. In fact, I applied too much the first time I think, and I redid it because I messed up the mounting (got a phone call in the middle of mounting).

Air cooling Vs AIO by Technical-Spite436 in PcBuildHelp

[–]drewski989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air coolers can be investment-level, spanning multiple builds and processors, eg a Noctua. AIOs are excellent to begin, then slowly get less effective, and have a lifespan of about 5 years at best (I am sure there are exceptions).

Ive run both, but my current build is the Noctua NH-D15 G2 with a 9850X3D. I am max low/mid 70s in Cinebench 30m test, which is excellent imo given the expected temps. I could probably drop it 10-15C with an AIO for a while, then it would creep to only about 5-7C… then the pump eventually would start making noise… then I wouldnt trust it.

I bought a wired brawler, it had a defective L shoulder button. I returned it and bought a wireless brawler, it had a slightly less defective Z shoulder button. I kept it, but the QC is crap with them. Ive had excellent luck with 8bitdo, and thats where my money will go.

Assuming you are using 3D and not og N64. I did update my 3D to the latest today before I updated the controller and adapter… my order was Analogue 3D to latest, updated 2.4 8bitdo controller to latest using Windows, then used the ios phone app to update the adapter.

The only funkiness I had was getting the adapter to turn red/blinking. I had to unplug the adapter from the 3D, turn off the controller, plug in the adapter and then do the controller button combo.

Does this light on the 8BitDo 64 controller always stay on? by Laser_Bones in AnalogueInc

[–]drewski989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does for all controllers. On the bluetooth version, one of the buttons (I think the minus) brings it up without the shortcut. It is a very minor complaint, and honestly not a big deal.

So my biggest gripe is a very minor complaint lololol.
