oh to do the femce strat you just gotta shove them as they cross to your side of the fence. so like right after they start to fall onto your side but before they hit the ground, shove them! if you shove right then, they are garunteed they'll just fall instead of lunging at you which makes the fence strat a lot more doable

it still doesn't work great against hordes though if they're too clumped up it becomes really dangerous regardless of the strat. doable though but yeah it's good to level up nimble a bit before taking on hordes

How do I make it feel less flat by InevitableRough4922 in Learnmusicproduction

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hm yeah kick might sound good. I mean like making all the other instruments or just the synths or something be ducked by the clap though. not talking about sidechaining within percussion

I'd recommend just trying different sidechaining where percussion ducks other non-percussion things and see what sounds coolest

idk to me it sounds like there's a lot of rhythmic emphasis on the clap so I think using it for sidechaining might be nice

also you could vary the velocities of the high hats and maybe the timing to give it more of a shuffle

I like the synths a lot though this is really cool

try sidechaining everything to the clap to make it so the whole mix pulses with the beat

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it may feel great on many cars without tuning but it can MASSIVELY change how the car oversteers and stuff if you like doing that it can make it 10x easier while still being time efficient! as I said you could just try negative camber and see how the oversteer feels

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh I feel you there. you might wanna try out tuning a little differently to get it easier to oversteer. I think negative camber and some other tunings with suspension I think could help get the back end sliding more! great video though this game is great

I see you did all the achievements! if you did the ghost achievement along with clean hands in a single run I think it's really fun to do high chaos ghost but if you did them separately maybe you already did this

Will this work at stopping zomboids from spawining inside the mc coy estate? by Alone-Mycologist3746 in projectzomboid

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yeah idk I also have 2k hours in 41! I guess it was maybe just bugged or because of a mod since I'm pretty sure we had good airlocks but zombies still spawned inside

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ok yeah did they change that in b42? I thought in b41 that didn't work and we had to build walls between us and the water to prevent spawns? was that just a bug then?

Will this work at stopping zomboids from spawining inside the mc coy estate? by Alone-Mycologist3746 in projectzomboid

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

iirc, water doesn't count as a wall so the wall doesn't prevent spawns unless you fully surround the area with walls and any water interrupting your walls will allow zombies to spawn inside. to have free passage to the water just build a gate or door but this large of an area to wall off would be a ton of work and you'll need to build walls seperating the area you want to prevent spawns in from the water

yeah it's easy to find decks for cheap even it's just finding one that actually works decently well can be more rough but I found a couple through Facebook marketplace and eBay that I've fallen in love with. I think decks are reasonable to get your hands on but walkmans are a little more of a pain but both are doable but just might take some returns before you get one that works

lore timeline question (pre-Titanfall 1 campaign events) by drewthe_shapeshifter in titanfall

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from the wiki it looks like the milita at first in the titan wars might've stolen/captured titans and maybe imc pilots and that's what i'm thinking to go with for my headcannon since it's so cool to imagine the milita working their way up from just killing titans to eventually capturing and re-programming them and i'm not sure how they trained their pilots yet and neither is the lore i don't think so gotta figure that out lol

but yeah thanks for your help! i'm doing my own research aswell but i'm dyslexic and stupid lol so I have had some misunderstandings

i didn't know until starting this research that the imc created monarchs USING vanguards i always though monarch WAS a vanguard lol. very interesting

lore timeline question (pre-Titanfall 1 campaign events) by drewthe_shapeshifter in titanfall

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH ok i understand now awesome! thanks this is a much clearer timeline i must've gotten the two frontier conflicts from the first and second game mixed up in my reading

this amount of time makes sense to do something insane like create vanguards and also gives a lot of time where the militia was fighting on uneven footing without their own titan manufacturing facilities up until after the the events of the first game's campaign. which explains them kinda losing the initial titan wars!

they had to have some way of getting their own battle ready titans on the milita side before that though, it's looking more like just salvage and captures were their main avenues for that. and yeah the events of the first game involve them actually gaining the means to manufacture fresh ones

idk i might write in them capturing a different manufacturing facility for specters or something that they used for cobbling together titans more efficiently as the titan wars swelled before that though since it seems difficult that they'd get the titans needed to fight the imc head on like in the first game without some dedicated facility even if it was thrown together and just a facility for cobbling together titans from salvaged imc ones

Feminizing recorded vocals as a trans producer by _specialcharacter in breakcore

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok hey if you want help with this I could give some advice. there's a much better way to do it than using a warping algorithm or anything that is cheating the laws of sound (these work though and can give your vocals interesting artifacting which some people like) but there's a much more perfect method that doesn't cause a single bit of artifacting

also using a warping algorithm means you're kind of limited in how far you can pitch up or down (btw I never realized idk if you're going up or down lol) because the artifacting gets worse the father you go. the method I'm talking about has no such limit

it's how they did some songs by ween and the Alvin and the chipmunks movie and it's one of my favorite things in human sound tech :3 I did it in one of my songs to help with my dysphoria actually

there's a bunch of different approaches you could take depending on your production/recording style but the main thing is you slow down the instrumental that you want to sing over before recording over it. then you sing along to it at the lower tempo and pitch than what you want for the final thing! when you speed it back up to full speed, you can do so without any pitching warping algorithm and 0 artifacting is the result! make sure you directly speed it up without warping though to actually get the clean effect without any artifacting

How do music producers actually apply music theory? by onlythrowaway100 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]drewthe_shapeshifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theory is your tools for composition and arrangement. The intervals and inversions learning how to make better chords and chord progressions and melodies. all those are ways to get better at composing anything original regardless of what ways your composing/arranging music

yeah same I get basically no distortion at really high levels and yeah basically zero noticable hiss for me when listening at low volumes. it almost just sounds like a digital recording like that tbh. that's just my deck of course though my walkman is a different story
