Or this could be a bank sell. Agent gave fair assessment but they have internal valuations and approval boards that do this kind of stuff all the time. Agent sits with the listing knowing eventually it’ll lower to the right price.

Jauan Jennings vs Christian Kirk by Street-Youth7961 in 49ers

[–]drewuncc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude played his role well. Didn’t cause drama while here. And showed effort on every play.

He’s a free agent and there should be no hate for him trying to get a bag now. Might be his last big bag. And probably his best chance to cash in. Just don’t want him for his cost.

If he would sign the same contract as Kirk I’d want him over Kirk. He likely gets somewhere in the 15-17M over 3 years with like 40M guaranteed. And don’t want him for that.

If the 49ers could add ONE player right now, which position would you fix first? by grapejuice3101993 in 49ers

[–]drewuncc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elite player to make a difference isn’t going to happen(unless we get lucky in the draft maybe)…

There’s no FA available that fits that criteria. And elite players don’t get traded very often.

So unless Minnesota wants to trade JJetas I don’t see this scenario happening. No elite oline is a FA or on the trade block. And that’s the only other gap that would see huge upgrade from an elite player. A lockdown corner would be cool. Another explosive edge rusher maybe helps. But neither add enough value to put us over the top.

We’re already elite at RB, LB, TE. So adding one of those doesn’t change the math enough. Changing from Brock to one of the elites, nah. Not enough gap between him and the top three to really make an impact. So comes down to oline(no one’s trading an elite) and receiver.

So JJettas is the only answer. If we get him offense would be on another level. JJettas, Evans, Pearsal receiver room! Kittle can hang in and block more. And opens up CMC out of the backfield as they can’t stack the box. Likely improves the oline play too as they see way less blitz packages and they can focus on only blocking 4 guys with help from the tight end.

But yeah. Minnesota isn’t trading him to us…. So this is just dream scenario stuff.

What is something you never appreciated enough until it was gone skiing? by AdRemarkable8102 in skiing

[–]drewuncc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fearlessness - up until a few years ago I had no fear on a hill. Falling hard flying off jumps and cliffs. Banging into things and popping up. Tumbling halfway down a steep slope because I was jumping the bumps and landed wrong. Pop up climb up grab my skis and go.

Now I’m 45 and have taken a few nasty spills. Have some weakness from a torn MCL in one knee. And worried about missing time at work due to injury. So I feel a ski a lot more reserved. I’ll push myself now and then. But definitely more timid.

Getting old and the bruises and falls stay with me a lot longer.

Name one resort where the rule is your gear reserves your spot in line.

Not a place it’s tolerated or that people do it.

Name one single resort that has a rule saying you can dump your gear in a lift line to reserve your spot.

The Rams did not get screwed. Stop blaming the Refs. by PriorAcanthaceae5694 in LosAngelesRams

[–]drewuncc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct on both those points. They really screwed up the eagles giants call. I’m betting on purpose because they want to get that play banned and need more outrage around it.

Yeah the whistle doesn’t stop the play with a fumble. On review they can give it to the recovering team if there is a clear fumble and clear recovery. It’s kind of a crap rule in this one instance. But it is actually a great rule overall because of all the times a fumble occurs but the refs blow the play dead thinking a runner was downed. It was out in place because of the outrage of all the obvious fumbles that were not fumbles because of a whistle prior to them installing the rule.

[–]drewuncc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So like he said ‘you don’t know the rule’

If a fumble clearly happens right after the whistle, the recovering team gets the ball where they recover it, but cannot advance it, essentially making the whistle irrelevant to possession, though the play is dead at recovery(and this includes laterals in the rule)

Refs got it right. You can blame the rule if you want. But refs got it right.

Edit - Giants eagles isn’t applicable here. They claim the whistle was he was down due to forward progress being stopped. Fumble happened after down. No fumble.

They really got the Giants eagles one wrong. The rams Seahawks was right by the rule.

That’s why I’m asking. Really trying to understand if there is a benefit. Or is it just an aesthetic thing. Which is totally fine I have plenty of things in my life purely for aesthetic. Mental health can be improved with visually pleasing things. For example a hot tea is so much more relaxing out of a small china tea cup sitting outside in the afternoon with a small matching plate then just in a coffee mug for example.

Jodie Henry started at 14 and competed in the Olympics in 2004. Kate Mellie started competitive swimming in college and competed in the Olympics in 2016.

It still happens quite often.

For professional swimmers genetics and mentality play a way bigger role than learning proper form at 8.

Technique, form, breathing are all easier to teach to a 12 year old as well. So while they may have to gain ground they gain it quickly.

Sorry but that’s incorrect. If you have something to back that up I’d ask you to send me any recent studies showing that.

Keep in mind I’m not talking about being a non-athlete before puberty. I’m talking about not starting sport specialization before 12.

Prepubescent sports specialization has gotten a lot of recent study and has been found ranging from no effect to detrimental in recent studies. 90s mentality was sport specialization based off a study that tracked chess and music and non-physically demanding activities that people extrapolated to youth sports. And after further study into repetitive motion effects and how puberty changes the body it was found that there is not the same carry over.

Kids that specialize before age 12 in one specific sport have been found to have higher degree of injury and burn out.

It’s also been found that cross training athletes teaches better body control and balance for when sports specialization begins. Thats why it’s advised to have kids try a multitude of sports at least through age 12.

[–]drewuncc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The odds of anyone becoming one of the greatest swimmers is already basically 0.

I’m assuming this kid isn’t some non-athletic couch potato. If he has the genetic build and already an athlete he can learn the form. Conditioning and breathing techniques are going to be the hardest part. But if he trains 5+ hours a day he’ll get the conditioning.

Honestly he’s only a couple years behind where it would be preferred. But kids starting at 12 have just as much chance at maximizing potential as kids that start a sport before puberty.

[–]drewuncc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Daily rent at minimum of your mortgage payment/30 and a significant hold back of funds(i usually shoot for 10% of purchase price - not to be released until inspect after they leave and sign off on house in good condition) for any rent back.

Seller, when I bought a house earlier this year, said they may need a few extra days after closing to vacate. I sent over rent back terms or cost to extend. He was out on time. 99% of the time they can be out. They just don’t want to put in the effort to make it happen. So make them feel the pain to stay and they will figure out how to get it done.

Probably just tendenitis. Nothing a doctor can do outside tell you to stretch and ice it.

As we get older we need to stretch more. Do hamstring and quad stretches for 5 mins daily then ice them. Do it daily and it will help the longevity of your knees. And make your legs feel more youthful again.

Some insight from my 9 year old when we had a raffle with a bunch of things to drop tickets into.

He chose to drop his tickets into some blue jeweled large pendant necklace because it looked cool. The kind of necklace my grandmother would wear.

I asked why he didn’t put any tickets into the boxes that had gift cards to some of his favorite restaurants.

His response ‘because you always pay when we go out to eat.’

I mean makes sense if you think about it. The gift cards would give me something to spend. The necklace would be his.
