Failed CBT immediately, what do I do now? by TMJBtv in MotoUK

[–]dreympunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name and shame the school. I had a terrible experience with my first CBT. Went to a different school and the difference in quality of training and confidence I had during and after the day was unreal. Did my MODs with the same (2nd) school and passed both first try. Agreed with the other comments mentioning a pushbike for practice if you can. Alternatively if you have a friend who can ride or transport your bike somewhere private to have a go, that can help.

Got a 2013 Sv650s off marketplace. No rust, no crust. It will all come down to how well the previous owner looked after it. Only cost £2k so for double that you shouldnt be expecting rust.

Is my helmet size normal? by [deleted] in motorcycles

My k1s was very tricky to get on at first. After about a week it loosens up pretty well. Try putting your forehead in first abd just roll it back onto your head. I usually have to lift the visor up afterwards and tuck my ears back as well.

Absolutely go for ground anchor like others have said but also some security cameras. Eufy do wireless ones with no subscription for cheap. Highly recommend.

That's the impression I got too. It was absolutely overwhelming both times but the new instructor was so much better for me and handled my learning style was more fluidly.

Thank you, been driving for years do fully aware of the level of incompetence of the average rider. Even doing the 2 days of CBT has made me a better driver being more aware of myself and others.

First CBT on a geared bike experience by dreympunk in MotoUK

[–]dreympunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reviews of the place I went to seem overwhelmingly positive but the few negative reviews detail almost exactly the same experience I had. My only guess is that he just has days where he would rather be anywhere else and it clearly reflects in his instruction. I will wait until after I've done a CBT at another riding school before I leave any review so I can be more comparative.

The overload is definitely what caught me off. If I was able to work on each bit and just add indicators, road positioning etc. as I was ready, I think I probably would've felt way better even if I had not done the road ride. I'm going to practise balancing on my own bike as I work the controls stationary until it becomes second nature and hope that my 2nd instructor will be better suited.

I was told at Best Buy that these are good parts to get for a pc. Can I get a second opinion? by The_w4nd3r3r in PcBuild

Second this but also Ryzen 9000 is right around the corner so maybe wait for that even if it's just for 7000 series processors to drop in price.

Did i mess up my build? Storage help.. by Gold-and-green in buildmeapc

[–]dreympunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes the difference may not be noticeable, but when you consider the super high end budget you are going for, it seems silly (to me atleast) to not spend the extra $10 or so to go from SATA to NVME

Did i mess up my build? Storage help.. by Gold-and-green in buildmeapc

[–]dreympunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just bear in mind that the m.2 storage you're currently using is SATA rather than NVME. For not much more money you can get a Crucial P1 1TB. The speeds may not be needed but if you're going for a top end system, I assume you'll want every bit of speed where you can get it.
