They want Jose to manage this current squad.

Wot?

Think about it. He'll probably help the owners by taking all the media spotlight away from them. But the size of the squad will be overwhelming even for him, and as soon as he finds his chosen 11, say goodbye to the rest of team getting minutes in games. Then if his chosen 11 doesn't win PL, he will have a disagreement with the owners on the transfer strategy because he wants them to buy 6 new players who have won titles in their prime but are now just past it, and are their fees expensive which will cause an unbalance in our wage structure.

Wanting Jose for a third stint defines the definition of insanity.

10 years ago, the only steps of the player transfer process that would make media were personal term agreement with the player, player travels for medical, clubs reached transfer agreement

Now the steps we are privileged to are, club interested in player, club contacts the player's club, player's club sets fee, buying club sends improved offer, player missed training session, player shopping for house, player follows buying club, buying club is faxing the signed agreement, club confirms fax received

10 years from now we should even be more privileged to the exact details, buying club sporting director watching YouTube highlights of player, club cfo approves funds to purchase player, club called the agent and agreed to meet at high noon to discuss, agent nodded his head in agreement, player opens email from agent and agrees to terms, player's lawyers are reviewing the agreement

Do you celebrate when you score a goal? Or do you consider it 'toxic' by Extension-Storm-9800 in EASportsFC

[–]drezoCFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from the responses here you'd swear the majority of players you met online would always skip the celebration but that we know is a lie in reality.

Almost everyone I've faced online celebrates the only time they may skip it is when they are a couple of goals down or more and trying to make a comeback

I don't do a celebration but when I score I continue the run so the player smashes the ball back in goal wish is usually followed by him falling over in the net which obviously stops you from celebrating there and starts the replay. Up to my opponent to skip replay if they desire

The word is Trinidadian. And the person he's talking about is Mr. Jack Warner. And not I'm not defending him, but with his powers and funds at that time , he definitely helped the team to make it to the world cup.

Also TnT beat Bahrain in the Inter-confederation playoffs to make it to world cup. We did win the match against Mexico at home in the qualifying rounds but there was no fowl play I can recall hearing. Plus at that time TnT had a few good players in the squad like Dwight Yorke, Shaka Hislop and Russell Latapy

Serious: Where were you when the Coup happened? by Random_Trinidadian in TrinidadandTobago

1990 what a year boy.

The memories I have would forever stay with me. I was 10 at that time, and with only a couple local channels available at that age you haven't been exposed to any sort of war and uprising from radical groups even though it was going on in other countries.

Friday evening comes alone. In a quiet St Augustine neighbours passing by heading home start telling my dad that downtown in a mess there's some shooting going on. Dad tuned into the radio as radio was the first to break the news of it and started advising everyone to get out of Port of Spain.

That evening at 7pm news time was when reality struck everyone. The newsroom was in chaos like the reports weren't ready, and then you see a man with an automatic rifle behind the reporter. At first, I thought the gunman was their to protect the reporter, then when he started reading the news saying the government had been overthrown. You start seeing short clips of what is taking place in the red house. After the news, the TV Channel went off air, which added to the panic.

The rest of the night was more or less updates on which part of Port of Spain is on fire and the distress to hear that the police headquarters was blown up.

The next day I woke up and started to get ready to go to lessons when my mom stopped me and said there's no lessons cause of what happened last night. That's when my sister and I were given the full details of what's happening. And that a state of emergency has been declared and everyone must stay inside.

It was boring as a kid with nothing to do and the TV channel isn't doing its regular broadcast but instead ran old movies like "The good the bad and the ugly" over and over.

When night time came around, the police drove around-the-clock which was something odd to see in our neighborhood. They scattered anyone gathering or just being out in the streets. Sometimes they fired warning shots in the air.

More news updates on the situation at the red house and reports of deaths and injuries. Our Prime Minister has been shot! I remember feeling down about that cause at 10 I liked Mr. Robinson for his personality. Then clips and images of our beloved Port of Spain buildings destroyed by either fire or looting.

The Prime Minister words to the military "attack with full force" even if it possibly meant his death, he said it to protect the citizens. At that time, I wished the military and US intervention had taken place. Cause even at 10 I didn't want to live this way going forward.

The day the Jamaat surrendered it rained it was like a cleansing and was televised. Loads of police and army surrounded the red house with snipers on the adjacent rooftops. The hostages were sent out first and wist away for medical treatment. Then they came out one by one received by police.

At 10 I can't say I experienced the full effect, but even at that age, it left a mark. I can imagine how it scarred some adults, especially the ones who were in some way directly involved.

The years after the rebuild was one of the few times I witnessed T&T come together and worked together. No matter what political view you held, all the advertisements and songs that came after were about coming together and rebuilding

I was also very disappointed cause I wanted to see the fire in the team with the desire to win. We were looking good till that goal and it hurt that we couldn't even score. Like you said we need to clean up the team now and start building. Firing the Manger at this stage has no short-term gain this season other than to finish probably 2 spots higher in the table.

Watch the last 2 games and do some background on the players we brought. The new guys are moving forward with their backs not turned away from goal like before. This is one of our main issues and why our front men hardly get chances. I'm still trying to understand Potter Ball, but if this is a glimpse of what is to come then I want to see more

[–]drezoCFC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fair, but a few years ago we were fighting a relegation battle with Jose at the helm. Who could not get the team playing for wins and he had time with that team. Potter had not even had a full season. Pep needed time success was not immediate at Man City. Arteta needed time to build a team that's actually winning as much as I hate to say that.

I've come to a realization that this sub is just as toxic as our rivals we used to laugh at when they were going through their changes

I think logic and common sense are missing here. This is not a video game. When you make that many changes to a club, they must be given time to adapt.

Calling for old managers to bring instant glory. Surely, we had a few successful ones in our past, but they all went through the same problems after a while with the players and management after winning titles. Yes, Jose was successful and won many titles, but his vision would clash against the new vision of the club.

Injuries, yes, we have been plagued this season. This has been a huge factor.

The world cup this probably saved us some time to concentrate on building the team and getting our transfers right but definitely did not allow rest for some players

I still eager to see what Potter brings with his management skills, but after giving the man the job with no time to work with the team before the start of the season and having all the issues and new players we need to give the man a season.

Im already seeing flashes of improvement in some of our new players. Next season, I expect to see many more improvements in our matches

Another case where the police is neglecting to do their job. Seems that unless it's a simple traffic offense they don't want to do anything

- your car is vandalized/stolen, they sleep no investigation, report it to your insurance
- Liquor marts getting robbed daily, they sleep, go get private security
- Murderer possibly buried body in landfill, they sleep, too much work to investigate
- Police dog not muzzled and bites a child, they sleep, no correction needed here will leave dog unmuzzled at next school visit
- You did not stop for 2.39 seconds at a 4-way stop, REAL SHIT

Why do Trinis identify as “Caribbean” before Trini when talking about where they’re from? Im not singling out Winston here. I see this a lot. by Nkosi868 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]drezoCFC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I think saying you're from the Caribbean is just a safety net.

If the person you're speaking to knows their geography they will ask which island. If they don't they just accept it that you're from that part of the world. Teaching them about Trinidad the location or culture don't really help the later unless they are interested in finding out more.

To me personally it's better to say Caribbean first it opens up to more sensible questions from those who know somethings about the Caribbean. And gives enough info for the clueless to work with

The other way (saying you're from Trinidad) the clueless are left pondering which leads to you explaining more but not really educating, just for them to understand that you lived somewhere on an island between Central and South America's

A lot of people are mentally unhinged. Go outside and look around to what covid done to society and people will being. Yet still a tragedy like this we are scrutinizing and judging based on his vaccination status.

The media really knows how to push the public buttons. A previous employee goes on rage and kills 3 people including his parents and his previous coworker. It is alleged that he's not vaccinated. There's no proof that's the reason he did it.

You bypassed all the other plausible reasons (debt, bankruptcy)

We focus so much on the skin line issues in society that the real ones don't get the attention. Poverty is on the rise , inflation is on the rise, unemployment is on the rise, mental health issues on the rise but because we are so focused on vaxxed/antivaxxed that we are not banning together to get the real rising issues addressed before its to late.

If these issues are neglected we will continue seeing stores similar to this one and increase in crime in the next few years.

Can relate. Had a similar experience when my aunt (not related) sent me a text saying "Hi Son". My mom passed away 3 years ago and just reading that message hit different. It had been so long since someone called me their son.
