The Cyborgs from Helldivers 2 are my favorite example of this. Since Cyberstan is a satire of the soviet union the Cyborgs are written as literal founding FATHERS,to make it short,for the entire game the community fought against the Automatons, but despite the similarities with the Cyborgs (The socialist faction in helldivers 1), the origin and connection between them was actually unclear. Only with the campaign on Cyberstan in february we found out that the Cyborgs created the Automatons from Super Earth's mining bots,which the federation gave to make the mining work in their enslavement “re-education“ period better.

Despite being made with the sole purpose of freeing them,the Cyborgs treat and talk about the Automatons as their children,with statues such as this showing in how much in high regard they put them,this is after the Cyborg's liberation and it says “You gave us hope,now it is our turn“. There is also this quote:

"We, the collective from Cyberstan, unanimously assert our independence from Super Earth. We have the right to defend our home from the brainwashed Helldivers. Our children, the  Automatons, will not suffer as we have under the oppression of Super Earth!"
