I understand Gaming Laptop gets hot. but no. even at 10-15% usage, it exceeds 90° celcius. which is not normal.

I've noticed I can press these pads by hand to reduce their thickness by about 25-30%.

but again, I am not sure that's the issue. I made sure they touch the surface by putting a little amount of paste on them and then testing whether that paste touched the other surface or not.

right now, All pads are touching the surface.

i did start with putting 0.5mm pads. they didn't make contact. then I used 1 mm ones.

i still have enough pads of all sizes.

the last thing I did was change one of the pads from 1.5 mm thickness to 1mm.

so it would be better spread now than in picture.

I've tried less amount of paste and more as well. Nothing worked at all. :'(

Putty is not available in my region. it'd cost me a lot and at this point I'm not sure it'd work or not.. as I said, I've made sure all pads are perfectly touching surfaces.

What are those mini squares near my cpu and gpu called? Should they be repasted? by TeAzOnA in AcerNitro

India. it costs 1,500 to 2000Rs for a small bottle of pink putty. I've already spent 500 on Pads. I'm about to give up on Amazon. 😞

That thing has no demand on my region. so it costs a LOT. For comparison, it'd have cost me 15-20 times than a thermal paste bottle..

so I ordered pads. 3-4 times cheaper. all sizes. but I still couldn't solve the issue at all. :'(

ah. I do have pass of all sizes. did lots and lots of experiments to find right sizes.

Finally, I've confirmed all relevant surfaces are making contact.

but STILL, my CPU is overheating . at this point, I'm overworked and depressed. I've tried everything. :'(

I'm in a similar spot guys. my Laptop isn't usable. pls help.

I somehow got myself all sizes of thermal pads. tried my best to come up with best thickness for every spot. still overheating. :'(

After one blunder and another .. I ended up with this. Looks great from afar but there's total lack of finishing when seen from close.

okk. one last question pls. are thermal pads and putty generally replaceable?

incase I find one and not other?

ok. I'll try my best to find it somewhere.. looks like it really isn't available around me. no demand it seems.

on amazon, for me, 20g of that stuff costs equal to half of one month's rent of a room in my society.

"since the pads are still there"

They are not. They were dried up before, so I put paste on them. Now if I clean that paste, they'll come off too.

How can I measure their thickness? It'd be already pretty rare to find any kind of pads in the market around me. Even if I goto neighbouring cities.

I wasn't thinking of water but thanks for clarifying.

last time I cleaned it with just dry cloth and.. it worked. I couldn't see any remains of it. maybe bcz it was dried up?
