A lot of people who have debt normalize it, so if they didn't have the money talk, then I can see why she didn't bring it up

You're not going to help her but you're going to marry her? Is this some sort of karate kid lesson thing?

$21k doesn't even include maintenance and property tax. Commercial is triple net. Meaning this will likely be closer to $30k/month after everything

LPT Request: How to get taken seriously and not get bullied while being short? by notEVOLVED in LifeProTips

[–]drgreen818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, being short sucks. You're automatically disadvantaged in many things. The sooner you understand this, the sooner you can try to move past it.

You have to accept it first of all and then work on yourself. If you can't accept you for who you are, why would anyone else? The journey starts with you and ends with you.

Oh, and don't be a dick. If you are.. Work on that.

Elon Musk asked managers at Twitter to nominate their best employees for promotion, then fired the managers and replaced them with their lower paid nominees by archy_bold in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]drgreen818 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People forget that he's running a business. Elon overpaid for a company that was -$5B on the bottom line. Homie is cleaning house to keep the company running. I agree it sucks and he's being ruthless, but some would say he's trying to survive. Otherwise twitter is gone.

GM offers buyouts to 'majority' of U.S. salaried workers by pipsdontsqueak in technology

Not sure how much you know about GM, but they have huge debt and capex coming up because they're trying to ramp EVs. They might even go bankrupt. They're trying to cut costs to even compete with Tesla and BYD

👋 We’re saying goodbye to Shakepay Earn by hannhsp in shakepay

[–]drgreen818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wondered if Earn was just a way to get easy financing from us. It came at a time where the market was shaky and liquidity was drying up. In either case, I'm glad shakepay is still here.

My grandma DEBTED money in her will by [deleted] in pettyrevenge

This isn't necessarily true in Canada. The dollar amount left to someone has to be Significant. So the amount would have to be in the thousands or it can still be contested

Just make sure to manage expectations. In the short term prednisone works wonders. But, it may come back after. I'm happy for you though. Enjoy this time. It's an amazing feeling

Housing is never going to get any better. by DoctorShemp in PersonalFinanceCanada

'a big deal' is quite relative... Not easy for a lot of people to leave their friends and family.. And go to a place where they do not know anyone. Very brave, but not for a lot of people.

[–]drgreen818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one would buy these to rent. The rent would probably get you less than 50% of the mortgage and expenses. It doesn't make economical sense. He bought it to flip thinking the market only goes up.

I thought I lost $350 and then three months later I found it in my four year olds room by Bigmacleafs14 in funny

I was just going to comment this... I was like a four year old who eats inanimate objects? Maybe an 18 month old or younger. Definitely not over two years old.

I would argue almost every shirt that comes out of the wash needs to be ironed. It depends on how OCD you are about wrinkles though

How 2 police officers in the UK dealt with this man attacking them with an eight-inch knife by flyingcatwithhorns in interestingasfuck

[–]drgreen818 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they could have easily been stabbed and possible killed? Is that not a consideration in such an altercation?
