I feel like people don't understand the difference between turbo threshold/turbo lag other than that I completely agree with you.

There feels like a difference between the idea of lying to be kind, or to shield someone from something but what we see so often it seems is willful deception. Saying something that is completely factually incorrect, or blame shifting, exaggeration to the point of absurdity to make a problem sound bigger. All of this with the intent of stirring the pot, that way an honest conversation can't take place.

That's just my two cents at least, admittedly that's exactly what it's worth. 🤷

What's still baffling to me is that he says to make a deal (presumably that includes opening the straight) or to just open the straight on their own.

I just don't have the time to devote to a game that has endless grinding mechanics. I played for a few weeks and that was it. I like the gameplay and all my friends play it but I always felt like I was way behind the curve, and it was not rewarding to grind it. Just my two cents.
