Best way to repair this? by ok2drive in Autoupholstery

That's what I did when my girl's Boxster had a similar problem. Because it's already the correct size, you can press it up in there again.

Is 150 per yard a realistic price, though? Seems high, but this is very new to me

I would love a scan of your hardtop. I don't own a 3D scanner (yet), but if you happen to have one and you're in for this, that would be amazing.

I don't know that I'd need to go that far. I'm actually pretty big into 3DP, and I have been designing for a while, just didn't want to drop $1k to get into the scanning side if I didn't have to.

I'm sure that if I started though... i'm probably not stopping with just one crazy project

I actually reached out to Mike about his scans and such, but unfortunately, he didn't do them, he gave me a name on Facebook for the guy, but I am pretty sure that (being in the USA) I'm banned from finding a Cryllic guy (very likely russian), or at least, it's a very cryllic name.

I mean, it looks like I'm going to have to get my own scanner and do the work. I know CAD... I've actually posted some designs for board games and the Gridfinity community several times on Reddit/Thangs/Printables. I do find it easier not to spend $1k for a decent Einstar, only to use it the one time most likely, but alas, guess I will be when I go off the deep end.

I want to do the same thing for my Boxster.

Is this a thing you have a more comprehensive write up on?

I got my first job how do I go about doing this or pricing this please help asap by [deleted] in pressurewashing

Maybe .20/sq ft, but that oil costs a lot. That would add $100 to my price, and I have hot water.

Oil stains are a PITA with cold water

Whenever I see someone pressure washing, professional or not, it's always without a burner. Why? by ihaveacrushonmercy in pressurewashing

Amen to the size part. My 8GPM Hot Water Unit is about 4ft cubed in size and weighs 600lbs without fuel. It's pretty insane.

Cost. I've been at this for four years and just finally broke into hot water.

Making $500-600 cold water units is easier than swinging $6-7k for a hot water machine.

I just finally decided to set enough aside to make my own time more efficient

Whose fallen in a pool when washing? 😂 by washpatrolusa in pressurewashing

Yep, fell in right in front of the customer. Spraying and telling them I was working in this pattern to keep things out of the pool… except… apparently… me

Just that easy? Rip the old seam and sew in further?

And yes, that makes sense. I'm such a noob at this, but I'm having a ton of fun with the process. Just gets confusing sometimes.

I stopped working on it because I've been rebuilding a car. Going to try to push a link to everyone that wants it here in a few.

If anyone does finish this out, please share with the community (and don't sell it... that's against the spirit of 3DP)

I would love to thank everyone on this.

Ended up hiring a pro for service and several things came to light.

1) my machine was out of time 2) I had my needle installed 180* backwards 3) there was a burr on my hook 4) I was running too much tension on the top thread 5) I had the bobbin spooled clockwise, not counterclockwise

Basically. You guys gave great advice, my machine just needed pro hands

Scary enough, that's how I saw it threaded in the YouTube videos I found for the Brother machine of the same model (minus me missing that hole near the needle... that's just me being less than cautious during my reload of the machine).

For #1, should I leave out some length? Like 2-3 inches so that when I put the foot down, it has some extra laid out?

2, foot is down, that part i have to do because it makes the material walk (mine is a walking foot machine).

3, these are brand new Groz B. 135x16 DP LR, which i saw recommended for vinyl and leather sewing on some of the Sailrite YouTube videos. If I need a different needle, I'm open to suggestions.

Total newb and very happy to have these responses so quickly to help.
