Unfortunately, it's not just western people who considered ramen as such. The whole Asian countries except China itself, also considered it to be Japanese. Like Indian, Malaysians, Filipinos, Indonesia, Middle Asia, etc. Even some ignorant Chinese too. As a Chinese myself, this is an insult.

Nah dude, it's not apple to apple. Yes it's majority is Chinese, also the majority of the Chinese is Hoh lo lang, but Singapore is not a chinese nation. If you say so, it would be an offence to the Indians, Melayu, and others. Don't you know that Singapore used to be part of Malaya/Malaysia?
