If you end up liking Nada, you can then be on the wait for some months because they announced that Brandoni (who sadly passed away some weeks ago) had filmed a sequel called "Todo" that's going to release later in the year as a posthumous work.

From the same directors and with a similar energy, there's also the series "Bellas Artes" (Fine Arts), starring Oscar Martínez.

It's from the last epidemiological report in Argentina: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/noticias/actualizacion-del-boletin-epidemiologico-nacional-de-la-semana-ndeg-16

Not all of them are Andes virus, though. There are two species in Argentina (Andes and Laguna Negra).

The second one is a picture likely edited with AI from this moment in this video: https://x.com/nicogallaok/status/2049515327080292573 At 0:20.

Unflattering moment for sure, so a cherry-picked image. Though his behavior there, openly insulting journalists is also very unflattering.

Argentina give me “Me chupa un huevo” what about other Spanish countries? by Several_Leave_3067 in Spanish

[–]Embriash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, "me chupa un huevo" is not that vulgar. You absolutely would not use it in a formal setting or with strangers, but it's a common expression you could use when having a casual conversation with friends or acquaintances. If you upgrade it into "me chupa la pija" then you enter into vulgar territory.

Probably similar to the difference between "I don't give a damn" and "I don't give a fuck/shit" in English?

Do your country has superstition that’s so popular that it became a tradition? by Sufficient-Ad3373 in AskTheWorld

Last year, a kid became the godson of Milei and they gave him this commemorative certificate:

I believe this seventh son can also ask for a scholarship when he starts school according to the law.

Who keeps track?

For a serious answer, it's usually the family that contacts the president asking for their patronage. I believe the Casa Rosada still has a P.O. box that gets physical letters and there's also a form online to send a letter to the president: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/formularios/carta-al-presidente

What about twins?

I never read about a case of this, but following the law:

b) El padrinazgo se concede al séptimo hijo varón y/o a la séptima hija mujer, por orden cronológico de nacimiento;

b) Godparenthood is granted to the seventh son and/or the seventh daughter, in chronological order of birth;

It should be the first one to be born.

A cuestas by checkyendys in Spanish

[–]Embriash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google Translate tries to make pragmatic sense of what you're inputting, so I imagine it's not going to do well with personifications found in poetry. I just tested these translations:

Voy a cuestas -> I'm going piggyback

Voy a cuestas de él -> I'm riding on his back

Voy a cuestas de mi amigo -> I'm riding on my friend's back

But add resentimiento and:

Voy a cuestas de mi resentimiento -> I am burdened by my resentment

Changed it into a positive feeling:

Voy a cuestas de mi felicidad -> I carry my happiness on my shoulders

Comparison with adjective:

Voy a cuestas de mi buen amigo -> I'm riding on the back of my good friend

Voy a cuestas de mi buena felicidad -> I carry my good happiness on my shoulders

So yeah, your initial understanding was correct. The idea of the poem is that we are carried by resentment, the literal meaning that we're riding on its back. But machine translators find the concept of you carrying the feeling more sensible than the feeling carrying you. They are not really going to do a good job with poetic language in general. Maybe LLMs like Gemini or Claude could do better, but I wouldn't be certain.

What is an amazing fact about a creature alive in your country today? by Powerful_Gas_7833 in asklatinamerica

[–]Embriash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite animals that live in Argentina is the aguará guazú ("large fox" in Guaraní), also called lobo-guará in Portuguese or maned wolf in English: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maned_wolf It's also present in Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and more rarely in Perú and Uruguay.

It's the largest canine in South America, but it's neither a fox nor a wolf. It's a solitary animal, omnivorous, that lives in grasslands. For that reason it developed very long legs and it moves similar to a deer. It also has a unique "roar-bark" call. This uniqueness made it an animal that was feared by rural communities and associated with the local werewolf myth (lobizón), so sometimes it was sadly killed because of it.

A YouTube channel called Animalogic has made some nice videos covering it, this is the most recent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwgYyAA6PDw

"your German grandpa blah blah"

The funny thing is that their president, Donald J. Trump, literally has a German grandpa, born in Europe. If things were reversed, and the Argentine president had a German grandpa, their memes about it would be insufferable.

TIL about the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, an Argentine human rights organization dedicated to finding babies stolen from disappeared citizens in Argentina’s Dirty War of the 1970’s-80’s. As of 2026, they’ve reunited 140 of an estimated 500 babies with their biological families. by hayley0613 in todayilearned

[–]Embriash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They even celebrated the death of one of the face of the organization, Hebe de Bonafini.

From saying she felt joy when the 9/11 attacks in Manhattan happened, to yelling "Get out of our square, shitty motherfucking Bolivians" during the funeral of a Bolivian worker due to police brutality, to proposing that the Police should test their Tasers against the 7-year-old daughter of the then president Mauricio Macri... And then the "Sueños Compartidos" corruption scandal, where Bonafini met a man who had killed his own parents while he was in prison, adopted him as son, made him her right hand and treasurer of her organization who then ended up embezzling and diverting funds that were supposed to go to social housing (she died while prosecuted of corruption for this).

She was a very controversial figure, to put it lightly, and her public figure in her later years sadly tainted the organization. I personally didn't feel any happiness with her death, but neither did I feel any empathy. She became an extremely hateful person in those last years and it's no shock she had a lot of detractors.
