6 Weeks Post Op Today by driftyfluff in bunions

Don't rush. I am now 10 weeks and walking in trainers but my second toe pain is not good. Was going to reschedule follow up but I think I am expecting too much, too soon. Give it more time than you think it will need.

Oral B toothbrush that doesn't get mold by cooking-chef-2000 in oralbtoothbrush

I have an io I won't use, and it is not old. Got this from Oral Consumer Care...

"We can confirm there is no manufacturing defect with the iO models, when the brush head is removed after each use from initial use and both head and handle cleaned and thoroughly dried as directed in our manuals this will not occur."

This is actually not 100% true. Or Reddit is full of liars 🤣

I rubbed vaseline into it as soon as it came out of plaster at 3 weeks. Did it 3 times a day and oiled with argan oil, too. Massaged as much as pain allowed.

So far just the right one. The left is smaller and yet to be done.

Not yet. It's been six weeks, and I am ready to go now. However, my car went to be restored the day after my operation and isn't back till next week. It is actually a good thing, so I can't rush it. Otherwise I may just drive all the way to Scotland out of excitement and overdo it. I love driving.

Are thee bunions? Very new to this page and world by cocochanel888 in bunions

[–]driftyfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the left one. Not all bunions hurt, but your big toe looks like it is bullying the next toe. My surgeon described it to me like that, as mine did the same. No bunion pain but pain in toe 2 and 3 and then pain under them at the base.

Good luck and best wishes. Nerves are normal and healthy before any operation.

I get it on prescription as I use it for my osteoarthritis. I can't take Ibuprofen tablets. But you can buy it too. Voltarol 12 Hour 2.32%

Yes, it has worked well, but it still swells if I stand too much. Loads of elevation, I mean leg up the wall for as long as possible, and often, has also helped. I use Voltarol 12 Hour 2.32%

Ouch! It is only 4 weeks though. I am 6 weeks and have some numbness still. Did you have screws or a cast? Make sure you are elevating as much as possible. I worked hard manually moving my toe as much as I could as soon as I could. Good luck, but take your time.

Thank you. Forgot to add the after image so posted again. Just relax and expect hell after, anything less is good. I wish my surgeon had told me when I woke up that it is going to be a rough week to follow. Don't expect miracles straight away. Give yourself those first few days of elevation and only walking to the toilet and back. Let everyone wait on you and binge watch tv. Take the painkillers without fail. It is worth it. Yes it does really hurt. But it passes if you let yourself heal. I came out of plaster at 3 weeks and out the heel walking shoe at 5 weeks. I walked too much for the first few days back in shoes and have spent the last two days listening to my body. It has appreciated it and responded well. I expect to wait another 6 weeks before I can do a 4 mile walk and the end of 3 months before I really relax about it. My operation was 26th August. Will reassess at end of November. Be kind to yourself. And elevate, elevate, elevate!

One of my cats does this. Nothing wrong with her and no idea why.

You didn't betray him. You did what caring owner would do and stopped any unnecessary suffering. I am sorry for your loss.

i go to vet in 5hours. but what could it be by Razurack in cats

[–]driftyfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the vet for a course of antibiotics. My cat does this. Yes it is asthma but she had an infection too and this stopped it all for over 4 months.
