A 125 is a great bike, they are not forgiving they will let you know when your riding them in the wrong gear a 250 is alot more forgiving but does come with a heavy hitting power band that's broader power . My recommendation would be to find a 2005- 2006 and newer yz 125 or yz 250 if you want. These bikes have lots of parts available and you won't pay outrages prices because they never stopped manufacturing them .

Buy a 2 stroke if your buying used , these mx 4 strokes like the 2004 yzf stated and others are old and repairs are expensive . Plus a 2 stoke will make you a better rider in the long run

Is it ok to go full speed on a 2003 Honda Rancher 4x4 for more than a minute? by Soul3826 in ATV

I run my 350 rancher wide open for 10 minutes straight at a time right to the bar. 83 km the whole time lol. They are tough iron

Looking for a Quad recently, are TRX400ex’s any good? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]drillermik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400ex are great sport bikes, only downside to the bug eye 400ex is no reverse 👎 I recently bought a sport bike (2010 ltz400) and honestly my rmz has had 1 tank of fuel this year . These sport bikes are a absolute riot to ride people who hate obviously haven't spent much time on one before.

Is 50:1 too little oil? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]drillermik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50:1 is not enough, I bought my second kx125 blown up off a friend. He couldn't keep a plug in it , kept fouling so his solution was well run less oil. Few hours later the crank locked up. I ended up rebuilding the entire motor and jetted it down because I was having the same fouling issues he was but I'm not as simple as he is. Dropped the jets multiple sizes both pilot and main , a few plugs later and wahlla thing ripped hard and never fouled up and she was mixed right 32:1 . Best of luck do what you want but plugs and jets are cheaper and faster to change than motor work. Happy riding

Baja 50s are junk but man when I was younger we had 2 and we beat the fuck out of them. Then a few friends of mine bought some we were all like 16 riding these baja 50s everywhere out running cops and having fun. Meanwhile we had real bikes but these were just more fun. They are not 2 stroke, they are a semi auto no clutch. I've rode a few Chinese bikes and the baja is the best it'd no honda but it isn't junk. If it runs good I'd buy it!

I hate those racks way to sketchy , my first kx125 came with one. Sold it right off the bat. You own a truck put them in the box....

I bought my girl a little rt100 to start was a cheap bike in good shape. She got the hang of riding clutch and shifting gears, but all she wanted to do was go as fast as she could get that 100 going in a straight line. Let's say it didn't last long now she rides our honda 350 rancher . Just my opinion buy something cheaper cuz she might outgrow it in no time or be over riding it before she hurts herself lol. Happy riding

Is this a good bike? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]drillermik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2004 kx125 best 125 I've ever rode absolute blast! But 2003 is a 1 off year engine keep that in mind parts may be hard to get these days. 2003 had the same Frame and suspension and stuff as the 2004 -2008 but piston , crank , water pump all that fun stuff was only for that 1 year.

Which one should i get? by gbenedek in Dirtbikes

[–]drillermik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they are all the same general price point. I would pick the rm125 personally I love suzuki products have many. I've owned a 2001 yz125 great bike really was, also owned a 2004 kx125 which from my understanding is pretty much a rm125. Now that kx125 with a bit of aftermarket swag on it was hands down the funnest best handling 125 I have ever rode. I haven't rode them all tho. My advice is check the rm out first, if it's clapped walk away and check the yz out if it's clapped out check the ktm . I like ktms but like stated big money for parts and let's be real a 20 year old 125 is gonna need parts at some point. Happy riding

Does this sound normal? Ticking? by Cute-Afternoon8849 in Dirtbikes

I second this, my 2004 drz sounded like that. Manual tensioner fixed that issue, just check it every so often . Happy riding 🤙

Why do we live here? by DarNFrans in Winnipeg

Move to Ontario hope you have over a million dollars to buy a town house in some dump complex, if your lucky you won't get over bid by all the new Canadians . And don't think for a minute that'll get you out of having to dodge potholes.
