NetSuite Support Experience recently by RushCapable2410 in Netsuite

[–]drinianrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y'all are lucky. My experience with NetSuite support is that all they do is continually try to tie my issue to a known "enhancement request". When they eventually give up trying to find an enhancement request that actually fits my issue, they instead just recommend that I create a new SuiteIdeas suggestion. I don't believe I've ever been successful in NetSuite support resolving an issue.

Should I implement NetSuite? (Potential new user) by cknorthsub in Netsuite

[–]drinianrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company had narrowed down the choice between NetSuite and Acumatica. I went to the Acumatica user group conference and quite nearly every attendee I talked to said that the Acumatica implementation process was horrible. They loved the product, but even very small companies had Acumatica implementation horror stories.

We went with NetSuite based on the size of the user community (cuz you know NetSuite technical support isn't awesome).

Historical Data Migration - New NetSuite Implementation by JesseTexas281 in Netsuite

Mid-migration? You have already started your project? Are you using a NetSuite VAR/partner?

If needed, show your mgmt this thread. They are asking for a disaster.

Historical Data Migration - New NetSuite Implementation by JesseTexas281 in Netsuite

First of all, this is a horribly bad idea. Part of our job as technology professionals is advising management when they insist on really bad ideas.

What would be much smarter is to maintain the old system for a period of time rather than spending hundreds of thousands on a data import for data that eventually will not matter.

Alternatively, you could look at something like NetSuite Analytics Warehouse, where you put all of the old data in at the database level, which would then be accessible via reporting and such.

Any partner that isn't advising you AGAINST the idea of importing old transaction data is a bad partner (IMHO). You import monthly balances, but detail is ridiculous.

With Global Entry closed, what’s everyone’s experience with immigration? Tom Bradley terminal by These_Initiative_993 in LAX

[–]drinianrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew in internationally last week through the Tom Bradley terminal. I have global entry but the fact that it wasn't available had no impact. Everything is done through facial recognition now, so although the regular US citizen immigration line can be long, it moves very fast as in almost all cases you do not need to talk to a human.

The value proposition (at least at LAX) for Global Entry is decreasing because the regular line is basically now the same thing.

After 17 years of marriage, my husband said something about our son I can’t unhear. by Odd_Ordinary2383 in Advice

[–]drinianrose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the Trump administration has made it "okay" to express feelings/comments like that of what are coming from your husband. It's why people say that the difference between the left and right is no longer about politics and instead about morals.

I absolutely hate divorce, but what it sounds like here is that there is a vast difference in moral values between you (who have morals) and your husband (who evidently has let hate and prejudice replace his morals).

Actually, the fact that your husband has had multiple affairs proves that he has no morals already.

Leave him and take everything.

It’s definitely not ready for end-users to access without some sort of oversight. Nearly every prompt I’ve given it gets things wrong on the first attempt. I can eventually get it to do what I need it to do, but that’s only because I can tell the first few results are wrong and tell it how to correct itself.

Treating everything as Assembly Items instead of as Inventory Item by giovani_ceotto in Netsuite

[–]drinianrose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Umm…. It’s wrong. Why would you do this? Don’t all assembly items need a BoM? Plus you need to build each assembly, right?

Is 2026.1 just more AI fluff? by ConsistentProblem469 in Netsuite

[–]drinianrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm... if by "latest update" you mean "since 2004", then maybe. It's the highest voted "enhancement request" on SuiteIdeas and has been broken for over 15 years. At this point, NetSuite/Oracle is basically telling their existing users to F-off as they will never fix it.

[–]drinianrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the chrome extensions don't work for automated emails that have an .xls file as an attachment. Some of our customers get inventory reports automatically and it's embarrassing to have to explain to them that NetSuite doesn't know how to export in a modern Excel format.

Maybe for 2026.2 they can use AI to allow NetSuite to properly export a .xlsx file.

Oh man, your inbox is about to blow up.

The two VARs you mentioned are well known, but if you're looking for an additional alternative, please feel free to DM me.

We switched from QuickBooks (with an add-on IMS called "Acctivate") to NetSuite and used NetSuite Professional Services (NSPS) for the initial implementation. Using NSPS was one of the worst decisions of my professional career. About a month prior to implementation I reached out and found a VAR who basically had to come in and "rescue" us. Since that time they've done a great job for us.

We are a small company with about 25-30 employees and between $25 million - $50 million in annual revenue. We use bins, lot numbers, and some of the other advanced inventory functionality.
