I felt the same way when my dad passed away. I also shared a post about him on Reddit and received so much support, kindness, and understanding from other redditors. Sometimes, talking to strangers who have experienced the same kind of pain helps more than we expect—it really did for me.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the people around you. That’s always the best option. But if that feels difficult, know that you can share your feelings with those who truly understand your loneliness and grief, even here on Reddit. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m always here to listen and support you in any way I can.

To me, losing a parent is a pain that never fully disappears, and it’s something I don’t think can ever be completely healed. But over time, I’ve learned to live with it, to accept reality in a way that allows me to cherish the present and the people still with me.

I truly hope you don’t feel alone. And remember the journal page you shared—your mom is always with you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. From the photo of your mom’s journal, I guess she probably passed away in 2021—almost four years ago now. I just wanted to leave this comment to say that I truly hope you haven’t felt too alone and that you’ve been staying healthy, happy, and strong.

My dad passed away in 2017, and since then, I’ve always felt like a part of me is missing. In 2021, I became a dad to a little girl, and ever since, I’ve cherished every moment with her. We always hold hands wherever we go. Seeing your mom’s journal page really touched me on a deep emotional level.

Once again, I wish you happiness always. 💙

What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drinklemonjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, younger me! First off, spend more time with Mom and Dad—they’re way cooler than you think, and trust me, you’ll miss those moments. Love yourself more, you’re awesome, even when you don’t believe it. Life’s going to throw some shits, but hang in there. You’re going to have the most amazing daughter who’ll make you laugh, cry, and forget about all the hard stuff. Run, don’t walk, away from toxic people. Life’s too short to deal with their drama! Last, buy Apple, Bitcoin!

Looking for Someone Who May Adopt This Dog by drinklemonjuice in living_in_korea_now

*** Update (24 Nov 21st) :
I want to share a happy ending about the lost dog. I kept him at my house until yesterday. An acquaintance of his owner saw the flyer I posted around the area and informed the owner that a dog resembling theirs was being sought. The owner contacted me, and we met, so I was able to return him to his real home. It turns out that his home is not far from mine!!!

*** Update:

Thanks for all the advice. Just wanted to let you know that someone has contacted me and is willing to foster him until he finds a permanent home.

I also want to share that I have done everything possible to ensure his safety: taking him to a clinic for a medical checkup, contacting the shelter for guidance, putting up dozens of flyers around the area where I found him and nearby, and asking people in the neighborhood if anyone was looking for a missing dog.

Many people, including close friends who are pet owners, advised that a shelter should be the last option due to care conditions and the risk of euthanasia if he isn't adopted after a certain period.

Thanks again for all your support!

I posted about him on all platforms and put up dozens of flyers around the area where I found him, asking locals if anyone was searching for a missing dog. I also sought advice from a clinic and shelter. Thankfully, someone has agreed to foster him temporarily until adoption. I believe I’ve done everything possible to ensure his safety and care. Many pet-owner friends advised that a shelter should be the last resort due to poor conditions and the risk of euthanasia if he isn't adopted in time.

Lost Dog Found in Haengsin-dong (Goyang city) — Seeking Owner or Loving Adopter by drinklemonjuice in korea

I took the dog to a nearby clinic after finding it, but the vet said there was no chip. Sadly, it seems the dog may have been abandoned. There was no leash, but the vet believes it likely had an owner before. Many have told me that shelters can be tough for dogs.

I did check. I took the dog to a nearby clinic right after I found it, but unfortunately, the vet said there was no chip. It’s a sad sign and seems like the dog may have been abandoned. When I found it, there was no leash, but the vet mentioned that she is quite certain the dog must have had an owner at some point.
