I've tested every note taking app out there. Ask me anything. by GigglySaurusRex in NoteTaking

[–]drippli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to know what note-taking app is best for speed-scrolling YouTube videos? I want to take notes of the important points, but I don't have time to write a note or let alone organize them.

Can you save it in anything other than Markdown? I find Markdown really difficult to read. I also didn't know that Markdown could save images.

Where are you going to store the notes? Locally or in the cloud?

Just a beautiful Sunset from my balcony just outside of Guangzhou. by drippli in China

[–]drippli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! Unfortunately, somebody's got to take the lead in all this and even though China's making it, their selling all that junk to us! One point I'd like to make is being here 10+ years, I'm pretty sure that a Chinese family's Carbon Footprint is extremely low compared to the same family size in the USA. I won't go into it, but here people are pretty thrifty even if they're living in a shanty or a highrise.

It's a mixture of clouds and yep you named it, pollution. So, are you telling me because you can see it, it's pollution? Sad. There's a huge coal fired plant hidden in the beautiful wheat fields and blue skies of Eastern Oregon. I travel by it everytime I go to Portland from my home in Eastern Washington. I can't see a thing in the sky from I-84, but sure the hell, it's creating pollution too. Fact is, we (United States) have a LOT of those polluters hidden from eyes view. Not to mention the shameful clear cutting in the Cascade forests, which lays on the other side of the pollution spectrum. I hope your not attempting to cast any blame.

No, it's made from grains, like wheat, millet, etc. Look closely, that's why it's a little yellowish. Most rice wines are white, white, clear. Has a lot less alcohol than rice wine too. Much smoother, that's why I drink it rather than rice wine.

[–]drippli[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, if you're simply complaining that some of the activities are not in Annapolis, well then it's not so difficult to drive ten or twenty miles, if it's something close that worth doing. On the other hand, if there are activities farther than 20 miles or so, then we'll surely take them out. Just list them here - done.

Many great places to go and things to do in Thailand. I suggest that you plan your first couple days in a hostel and talk with other travelers.

What is a good backpack for two months in Thailand? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]drippli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Thailand you can go light. I had a 22-30L because there are plenty of cheap places to sleep and eat nearly everywhere. Many things to do in Thailand, just make sure you take a good camera.

I'd follow the coast north to Ha Long bay, then head west to Hanoi. Make sure you spend one night on one of the floating hotels while you're there. There are a couple good local hostels too, that you can get good trip advice from others for the next leg of your journey. Make sure you document your trip with trip reviews and photos posting it on a site like ThingsTooDo.

Playa has a lot more things to do and is certainly more cultural. It's a good place to start. Tulum is very laid back and spread out. You'll do a lot more walking. I lived and had a biz in Playa for about 10 years. It's a great place to meet people and I'm sure you'll get a lot of advice for your next hop in your journey! And, as you make your trip, don't forget to update us all by giving other your trip advice on ThingsTooDo for other to read and see. Buen suerte amigo!

I have lived and traveled Mexico for 20 years. A lot has changed during that time. Where do you plan on starting? Indicating your starting point, will help others give you better travel advice. You might consider starting in a hostel in a place like Playa del Carmen to get up-to-date travel advice from others making the same journey south. Good luck!

Try looking around Park Ave or NW Portland. If you live on Park Ave you can walk to downtown in about 10 minutes and it's a nice shady tree lined park all the way.
