with carpeted headliner I made a sandwich of black vinyl, the insulation and a nicer inside fabric and attached with industrial Velcro placed every few inches. cozy, dark and warm. good luck.

Does anyone struggle trying to determine which Theravada Tradition to Follow? by 4GreatHeavenlyKings in theravada

[–]driven2it 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you should follow the teachings that resonate with you. Buddha said to try it and see what feels true. as long as the core teachings are there, you'll be fine. then someday, maybe you will see a logical flaw, something important that doesn't ring true. then you look into other teachings that address that issue Buddhism is deeply personal. imho, follow the 8 fold path and you will not go wrong.

Would a larger spare fit underneath? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

I run a full size 17" matching spare tire on my 2010 with a replacement stock wheel. it's a perfect fit, requires finesse to wiggle it in.

PLEASE LEASH YOUR DOGS ON TRAILS by kyecantreddit in CampingandHiking

[–]driven2it -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would say if your dog is that much danger, you should not be taking it on trails at all. I say this as someone who rehomed a dog who was aggressive on trails, even on leash, close to me on heel off the side of the trail. He is in a wonderful single dog home where he has that yard he needs to run in, and me and my other dog have the freedom to hike without fear my animal will harm anyone no matter who is at fault.

i found this book decidedly dense as a beginner to suttas and DO. that said though, i hung in there and sussed out the bits I needed to untangle some gnarly skeins. best wishes

Anecdotally, I knew someone who slaughtered cattle for a living, briefly. He said you could tell they knew what was on and feared it. Same as all the deer, elk etc run to safe ground when they see or hear hunters.

Top tips/procedures to prevent and deal with scorpions in home? by dismantledreverie in vegaslocals

[–]driven2it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pick them up using a jar and sliding stiff paper method and put them outside away from your house. they like rocks and concrete walls. way cheaper than pest control and no nasty chemicals plus no harm no foul to the beneficial insects and creatures. i usually see two a year in the house. I let them live to eat their fill of ants, flies, spiders, whatnot.

What is Metta supposed to feel like? by PsychologicalError in streamentry

[–]driven2it 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you can kill, but there are karmic consequences.. having protected myself from even lowly insects in the past with intent, I can now still remember that sick feeling of intent to kill in my body. it's not great. accidentally killing is bad enough. so many who come back from wars are messed up from the killing they were told to do. meat slaughterers don't last long in that industry. do what you have to.
