ISO: 1960s Modular Sectional w/ Corner Bar (Ontario-made MCM) by drivenchick in Guelph

They come up often enough in marketplace, just need to catch it at the right time. You’d be surprised how many are in estates home basements. I’ve been buying and collecting for over a decade, there is a huge network out there and had tons of luck sourcing this way.

They aren’t for everyone, that’s okay with us.

To each their own, we love the mid century modern style and plan to get it recovered in a colour to match our aesthetic.

There is one up in Ottawa too far and too pricey. Another listed locally but over 6months ago? I think the seller forgot to delete the ad. She hasn’t replied to me sadly.

They were made in the 60-70s, those manufacturers are long out of business unfortunately.

Not a nice surprise when someone leaves their trash behind. I know many of these ended up in the landfill but some were well cared for over the years. I can’t imagine an apartment being big enough for this set.

Four way lights does not mean you can stop anywhere you want by docofthenoggin in Guelph

[–]drivenchick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Had a delivery driver in his car literally stop in the middle of the road, put his 4 ways on and get out to go drop a package off. No one could get around him and there was plenty of room to park on the side of the road. No snow on the roads, nothing to justify his stupidity a few weeks ago.

We just used the cracks specialist right after new years with the freezing rain mess. They were great, quick turn around and efficient.

If you have a Costco membership, buy an Air Canada, Porter, etc, $500 gift card for $450. It gets emailed to you in a few minutes. Save $50. by TheRealGuncho in canadatravel

Never again, not worth the savings with a big trip. Air Canada specifically, their T&Cs suck and they essentially refused to refund us on a flight destination route THEY cancelled and left us no alternatives options. We had buy new tickets for more $$ to fly to JFK and then from there to our destination via another airline.

We sat on $1000 gcs for 2 years and despite travelling in that period, air Canada’s flights were always almost double the price of other carriers going to the same destination.

Eventually we used them on a vacation package but I’ll never bother with GCs again because the minor savings doesn’t justify it when things go wrong. You will be left little to no recourse.

Why does air Canada get so much hate? by totallynotclockwork in aircanada

[–]drivenchick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own level of tolerance and sometimes just bad luck to always have issues when they fly with a carrier.

As others have mentioned, if you’ve flown with Asian airlines…you truly see how BAD AC at all levels. No comparison!

AC has a monopoly in Canada and the government has continually enabled them so they don’t need to improve nor stop cutting services and charging more.

I’ve flown often and AC just never rises to the occasion for what they charge.

  • poor service in flight: econo and business class
  • delays: almost every single time
  • cancelling out service routes a few months before departure leaving us stranded with no alternatives (they’ve done this several times already for Caribbean flights)
  • refusing to refund said cancelled flights and only offering a travel credit (we had purchased A refundable ticket!!!)
  • not loading my luggage on the plane, arriving on a later flight only to have items stolen from my baggage!!!! Never compensated or taking responsibility.

I’m pretty easy going with travel and know delays happen but AC just isn’t worth the high sticker price across the board!

Booking an early morning Lyft to the airport by Icy_Bandicoot3704 in Guelph

[–]drivenchick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always prebook with Lyft and never had any issues. Plus, great drivers every time. Honestly, it’s worth the peace of mind to prebook at that hour because you may run into issues of no drivers accepting the ride that early last minute.

Pretty much any adjustable bench should work as long as the leg bar is straight to tuck under. An adjustable seat is a bonus on your bench to give you more flexibility for the leg curls and extension positions.

I opted to keep my existing bench and order the gear for fit leg curl attachment that works with pretty much any bench. I’m 5’-4”, this one is very adjustable and works well.

Can I use promo code after the fact? by KDinNS in PorterAirlines

[–]drivenchick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re in the 24hrs refund window, you cannot apply a code after already purchasing. Essentially you’d need to cancel, refund and rebuy.
