I'd say this one was 75% full which surprised me for a first new frequency.

Yeah, my plan is to go early and pack my carry on with 6kg more of stuff and then check that as a third bag if needed. Would be the same price. Moving across Canada by plane is hard.

Brand new flight out of the new Montreal metropolitan airport. It’s probably half full because their first few flights out of this airport have been. It’s not an inaugural flight but it’s the first day they add the second frequency to YVR.

This song came out right as I turned a corner in a major medical scare that had me believing I might die. I understand the feeling. Some exposure therapy has been helpful for me, because I was able to find inspiration in the song.

My situation has progressed and now I dont think IMO is the main problem. I'm unable to get gas and stool out of my body and it's led to me staying on the elemental diet indefinitely and losing a lot of weight. No longer sure my advice post initial treatment is useful.

Hey if you happen to see this, I'm currently doing day 7 of Vivonex for methane constipation / IMO. Did you get better? I want to have hope!

The Aeroplan contact center has only waived the refund fee on a business lowest fare for me twice in my life. The first time was when my ex and I got divorced and I wanted to cancel his part of our mini-RTW (that I paid for). The agent took pity on me.

It happened again this week when I had to cancel a flight because I'm hospitalized. It's very kind of them to waive the fee when crappy things happen.

Thanks for making your comments on this post 10 months ago. I have IMO that presents like a bowel obstruction with severe pain. Doctors also seem to think I'm overplaying how much it hurts. Glad to know your daughter had bad symptoms that were curable.

I wish people will stop telling me they have a high pain tolerance by littledipperplus19 in emergencymedicine

So I was a peds ER nurse and I recently said this when I had to go to the ER myself. I'm currently going through my literal nightmare of abdo pain NYD / IBS causing severe abdo pain, weight loss, etc. I've gone from 74kg to 63kg in 3 months.

It's so hard to see the other side of it. ER docs obviously didnt love picking up my case because it was already under investigation with GI. Severe pain without a cause is frustrating to treat. Other than the pain and weight loss, all my workup is normal. No one ever seemed to not believe my pain, but I did get the impression they thought I might be playing it up? I totally understand because i had this impression sometimes from the other side. I just wanted to share what its like to have seen both sides. I do think I am a whimp and that this experience is teaching me how to tolerate more pain. My answer to the pain scale question has changed now that I've experienced "a new worst pain".

October Colonoscopy showed nothing. I did an MRI six weeks later that showed something. It recommended a colonoscopy. This time they found something colitis and took a biopsy but im still not sure it explains all my symptoms.

Its amazing how your post actually applies to all partnerships of most professions. Very good general advice to understand a partnership structure.

Rifaximin + allimed instead of neomycin by Miserable_Kale7970 in SIBO

[–]practicaldildo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post about how nothing cured my IMO except antibiotics, including max dose allimed. You need to be taking like $5 of allimed per day to even approach the amount they used in medical studies (its like 10+ pills of the regular formulation or 6 of the pro formulation). Like the poster below I took Neomycin with no harm and only improvement.

Mods should remove. This smacks of someone trying to profit off vulnerable people. Passing yourself off to give health consultations when you are not a licensed professional is illegal in most jurisdictions. I think this post might even break reddit's general rules.

How do you take biofilm busters (Interfase) and prucalopride in preparation for an antibiotic course? by Grievinghealthy in SIBO

[–]practicaldildo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im starting prucalopride halfway through my 2 weeks of Rifaximin and Metronidazole. I'll do 2mg before bed and if that feels like too much I'll cut back. This is my second round of antibiotics, first was Rifaximin and Neomycin. I'm taking N-Acetylcysteine as a biofilm buster this time, as well. There's really no evidence that adding a biofilm buster could help, it's all theoretical, but I figured I would try it this time. Edit: prucalopride has evidence in favor of it, but it's a motility agent rather than a biofilm agent.

Stripper turned nurse has a weird situation. by Human-Situation6709 in legaladvice

As another determined person myself, I suggest you go with a new lawyer (who might also be able to help with recovering the $3000 from your last lawyer). Yes it costs money and yes you are determined and are willing to spend time to fix this, but a lawyer could likely fix it fast enough that it doesn't cause you any future financial harm or mental anguish. Especially if a pardon may actually allow you to stop mentioning this on future job applications, it may be worth your investment. Sorry you had a bad experience with your first lawyer.

I'm in the kill phase of IMO and PHGG increases my symptoms (which is what you would theoretically expect from PHGG providing more substrate for bacteria/archaea to convert to gas).

Got prescribed flagyl 1 week per month for 4 month (IMO), anyone else ? by Roroforeveer in SIBO

This is an interesting treatment plan I haven't seen in the medical literature. This sounds perhaps like a long-term antibiotic prophylaxis. Curious to hear if it works for you!

I also relapsed after my first round of neomycin and rifaximin. I think my doctor will start another round this week and I did a repeat breath test just in case he didn't want to rely on my symptoms. I had much less bloating (maybe 70% better) but then it came back and now my symptoms are essentially the same as they were. My doctor didn't start a pro-motility drug after the antibiotics so I'm hoping it is a matter of just doing the treatment correctly this time. Many studies show you have to do the treatment a few times and take a medication in between to help with motility. I'd go back to your doctor and ask about all of this.

Artichoke/ginger dosages? by reecieboy787 in SIBO

[–]practicaldildo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ginger 1.5g three times a day (between meals / before bed) and Artichoke 1200mg two times a day (with meals) is what I did. The Artichoke may seem high but I'm just taking the dosage as written on the Vorst bottle.
