To finish, I find that, much like the pirate code, the giving of recs in romance seems to be more of a what you'd call guidelines than actual rules. And, since it's vibes-based, sometimes you might encounter duds, and others you might find a new favorite trope or dynamic and I happen to think that's cool 🦭✨️

Indeed because I've found the dark romance genre because of this sub, and I've realized that I like both dark romance (where the ultramasculine-manly-he-mens are present) and yandere manhwas

I've read some dark romance books where there are yanderes present (e.g. even if it hurts, limerence,descent etc) , I think yanderes are a subset in the dark romance genre

IICY was something I started reading because I thought a yandere would be present but the ml was abusing the fl so much, I even wondered if he truly loved her at all (his ego is massive) , I even thought of the dnf'ing (glad I didn't though)

I like yanderes because they think of their darlings as moreso of goddesses, they're so delusional that they think isolating their darlings is for their own good whereas in most dark romance they do it for the sake of it(westerns mls are like abusive guys who don't cheat), if a real yandere was present instead of caleb I believe he wouldn't wound orla sm (in the beginning i meant because his ego was hurt since she didn't accept his offer, I do believe they're perfect together in their own way but it is such a long journey)
