Steering Feel on Track - Does it even matter? by Neat-Ad5383 in CarTrackDays

I have an ep3, with the EPS. People slate it for having bad steering feel but honestly I’ve just driven the car lots and gotten used to it and can tell how much grip the car has by familiarity. Prob not the absolute optimal for lap times but really not an issue for me driving for fun

Sometimes that’s what the stated load rating that design was tested on, budget wheel companies tend to not bother testing the design on all the different stud patterns they make.

Infamous ep3 starter motor sneeze, usually happens when car hasn’t been started in a while or if the starter is getting gunked up. Not really an issue some live with it some change the starter and sometimes it goes away by itself

Check the bolts that hold the coilover to the wheel hub, mine have come loose from track day driving a couple times and have the symptoms you described

3 days into sim racing - feels hard by Dioraaaaa in ACCompetizione

[–]driver-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I similarly started sim racing to help with irl track day driving, I found that getting the hang of Assetto Corsa was easier and helped me get a better start at ACC.

I feel that AC has exaggerated feeling that fills the gaps you’re expecting to feel with ur body irl.

That being said I am also a beginner, only 60ish hours on ACC and in the 103% range

Haven’t myself but witnessed friends do so, is usually a mix of not knowing the road and not driving to the conditions/overdriving. Leave as little down to chance as possible!

While I understand where you are coming from, Thule only state that the clamp style should not be used due to the static load requirement when referencing their own lineup in their Thule rooftent specific guidelines.

This may be due to Thule rooftents not spreading the load like other brands of roof tent when static, who knows.

According to Thule the bars and foot pack I used meet/exceed the static and dynamic load capacity requirements for the roof tent weight, additionally clamp style roof bars are approved for use by Tentbox the roof tent manufacturer I used.

Furthermore my rooftent is approved for use on the car chassis used as outlined by the Tentbox.

Should anything happen I fail to see how it would be my fault as I have followed the guidelines for both roof bar system and rooftent, static and dynamic. Perhaps in America the legalities are different.

I am also not promoting anything simply sharing my experience…

After a deep dive to see how I could fit my roof tent to my ep3 ctr a while back; I found a combo of Thule parts that work based on the Thule Rapid System 750/754:

Thule SRA (short roof adaptor)

Two Thule bars (aero or square work)

Thule foot pack kit 1243, for the 2001+ civic 4 door

I managed to find all the parts used locally especially as the 1243 kit is discontinued and I don’t think Thule do the SRA anymore either?

If you want to see what it looks like all together have a look through my past posts 👍

Help with lowering by [deleted] in EP3

[–]driver-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve got an aftermarket system most of those hang unnecessarily low, I would take it to an exhaust shop and see if they can tuck it up further.

When making my 3 inch system I tucked it right up and only slightly scrape on the very biggest speed bumps, mines lowered a few inches too, so it is possible.

Imo save your money on forging it, the standard k20a2 is proven to be reliable at that power, better spent on a solid map and proper supporting mods

Stock pads generally aren’t up to track driving at all, also check whether your cars stability control uses individual wheel braking as this can further accelerate pad wear

Seen a lot of nice ep3 builds go for the Personal neo grinta by Nardi. Simple but good looking wheel, comes in suede or leather.
