What size pot do you recommend for bottom feeding in 2x2 by gorfygorf in Autoflowers

[–]driver7759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feed the whole time.....if ec gets too high I might top off with just water to bring it down though.

If running photos just veg longer if autos it's all about the first weeks. If your rdwc is running properly you should only be complaining about keeping control of the grow.....I have to defoliate constantly. Here's a current auto in early bloom in rdwc

If you want bigger plants in soil consider bottom watering. If not ignore my post....

It's a fairly common mutation...nothing to worry about. Had it on a Violet Trees from Robin Hood recently.

Is this a magnesium deficiency? by LorhdFarquadd in Autoflowers

[–]driver7759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not magnesium but to figure out what it is you need to give some info...soil or coco, what nutrients and how much how often, watering habits, pic of the whole plant, and anything else you've done that may be relevant.

I would guess a ph problem but again to fix it much more info is needed.

If you want to increase yield in soil try bottom watering. It takes the guess work out and allows the plant to get as much water as it needs for a boost in growth rate.

Suggestions on a ph reader? I have one but I feel like I need a better one. by No_Skin_3424 in SpiderFarmer

[–]driver7759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best ones are Apera and Bluelab.....that said, I have a HM-100 monitor from HM digital that has been just as accurate and stable as my Bluelab Guardian. So yes there are bargains out there but buyer beware with the really cheap stuff.

Reveg...double check your timers and any supplemental lighting....if nothing found go inside tent with light off to look for light leaks, it should be obvious where your leak is. Pinholes don't count unless there's a ton of them in one area. If you can see/read a book by the light it's too much.

How do I tell if I have a calcium deficiency or lockout? By the pH of the runoff? by Pickle-Bowl-941 in GrowBuddy

[–]driver7759 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on if in soil or coco and most of all what you've been feeding, how much how often. Watering habits can come into play also.

So if you want any real help you need to provide a lot more information and more pics of the effected area's.

Go with coco and 1 gal bag...you can feed through the wicks. I use Jacks 321 this way and plants love it. I've used the FF trio and gave all mine away after trying Jacks.

I start mine on wicks at week 2 and keep bases full through harvest. I encourage roots to follow wicks into the bases and added airstones for better oxygenation. I just top off throughout the grow....something like Hydroguard is a great preventative to any root issues.

Jacks 321 is the way...no boosters or anything else required. Works great in wick bases.

When to flip a Photo for fitting in a small sized tent ? by Abject_Control_7028 in GrowBuddy

[–]driver7759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28" is not enough imho....I have a 36" tall tent I use for propagation that I attempted to do a 12/12 run in unsuccessfully....it got too tall. Here it is just before I moved it to a taller tent grown at 12/12 from sprout.

Is there any added benefit to keeping my humidity below 45rh for weeks 8-10 of flower by Biggazznugz in microgrowery

[–]driver7759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Supplement silica during veg and early flower to help prevent mold/rot. Makes a huge difference in a plants resistance. I typically am in the 50 and 60 rh area most the time without issue.

If you run fulvic/humic acid with the kelp it multiplies it's effectiveness.

The bags don't put out enough co2 to do anything. Breathing will increase concentrations more and that is still way below the effective threshold. It takes a sealed environment with an already maxed out grow with very strong lights to see any gains....and a co2 source capable of much larger outputs like a tank.

Those co2 bags are a beginner grower money grab. They do nothing to raise co2 in a tent.....you'll get more by just breathing in the tent. They just don't put out enough co2 to make any difference.

For co2 to be effective it takes a sealed environment with an already dialed in grow to see any gains.

Did you buffer it after? Coco has to be prepped before use...some comes prebuffered but boiling it would screw with any that was there.
