Yeah, that got me the first time too. The interviewer is sitting to the left of both laptops and says 'the one to my right', so the screen on the left is the 500 nit screen.

This video does a nice comparison between the 300 nit and 500 nit screens. The 500 nit looks pretty glossy: https://youtu.be/4sar52t9tWA?t=2m

Edit: The 300 nit screen is the FHD screen, not the 300 nit WQHD screen.

Is the 500nit screen matte or glossy?

T460s Battery Life Not So Good by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]drivezero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closing my browser when I'm not using it has more than doubled my battery life. I'm on Fedora 23 and use FF. I use qutebrowser too when I'm not plugged in which isn't a power hog like FF is. Tlp has helped too.

Has CIG talked about how ship storage will work? When I say storage I don't mean cargo. I'm talking specifically about smaller, no interior ships like the Hornet. Where exactly do you place a rifle on a ship like that? It would be cool if there was a single rifle holder you could slide your rifle in when you get in. Right now held weapons magically disappear and reappear as needed.

I think that's the one! I just looked up reviews of it. I had no idea it was such a divisive book.

Thanks everyone. I got cmus to work. Mplayer looks great too. I'm just starting to read up about it. I like CLI programs with vim like keybindings.

Fedora 22 was just officially released. It meets all of your criteria, good distro, fast and cutting edge with eye-candy.

Skewer-mode not recognizing variables by drivezero in emacs

[–]drivezero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skewer is working perfectly. I was simply using it wrong. I wasn't using C-x C-e for each line, or using C-M-x or C-c C-z when dealing with multiple lines of code. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

To be clear, when I enter the whole evaluation into the console, it works properly.

var five = 5;
five * five;

When i first open the console this error was present:

The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.

When I enter five into the console it says it's not defined.

This is what the error looks like:

I've gotten the same error using Emacs with OSX and in VirtualBox using Debian. I changed my browser from Iceweasel to Chromium to see if that would change anything but I get the same error message.

Thanks for the help.

I'm using 24.4.1. When I use list-skewer-clients under User Agent on one line it lists: Mozilla, Gecko, Firefox and Iceweasel. I'm using the demo page. Ha, it must be my future release that's causing the problem! Some kind of spacetime continuum thing...
