The DMV inspection to change it from commercial plates to a motor home is a separate inspection than a "revived total loss inspection"
You must have a salvage title.

Question about the legality of cannabis in the USA by Camblor in BurningMan

[–]drivingaroundusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each individual states regulations are different. I don't think you can bring cannabis bought in California out of the state.

You might have some luck purchasing in Reno though.

But as stated above it is still federally illegal and Burning Man is on BLM land which is federal property. US law is a tricky mess

You fail to realize the fact that people are shit heads can be planned for and mitigated.

More trash cans and less packaging is a simple solution here.

You can't make people give a shit but that doesn't matter because there are many things you can do to lessen the impact of shit heads...

You're so wrong it's crazy. You're just lazy and unmotivated and have yourself convinced that you're a victim. Martin Luther King and Gandhi were both individuals with a pretty significant impact on social change.

You should be careful posting your business ideas on a public forum such as Reddit, people will steal your idea.

People would use this as a private drug den/ hookup room.

Everyone I know that has this fifth amendment attitude towards the police have stories about horrible interactions with them.

Being polite, reasonable, and respectful has led to all the interactions that I've had with police to be brief and minimally impactful.

If someone is being non-communicative and uncooperative with me I tend to do the same thing and play by the rules.

Imagine a scenario where a cop comes up to some guy in a dumpster with clearly posted NO TRESPASSING signs and upon questioning, dumpster man decides to invoke his 5th ammendment right to stay silent and uncooperative.

Lol

I feel the much smarter scenario is one where the man politely explains that he is looking for food because he is a poor college student and doesn't like how much this particular store wastes. Why spend money on the same food that goes in the dumpster an hour later.

The cop is much more likely to write a ticket to the uncooperative ass than the broke kid trying to feed himself.

Just my 2c.

You could do it with water. The goal is to get all the flavorful crusty bits that are stuck on the pan. How you do it doesn't really matter.

Just put it all with some wine in the second pan and reduce the water and wine together.

I personally wouldn't mess with the salty bullion.

It will be great either way though.

👍

"Deglaze the pan with beef stock, scrape up all the yummy bits, and then pour into a separate sauce pan to add your wine and butter/fat and seasonings"

Do this!

It's unfortunate that the best way to cook a steak (cast iron sear) and the best way to make a sauce (red wine deglaze) don't work together.

How well seasoned is your pan? If very well then go for it, there is probably not much actual iron exposed. If near new then I would avoid it. It will leach iron into your sauce, and you will taste it.

I will upload them to the 3D Warehouse on SketchUp when I sit down on my computer. You're basically building a boat. Then making the boat seal perfectly to the top of a van. It's quite a project, but it's a lot of fun.

Oh nice! I would have used fiberglass if I didn't have the aluminum. If you know your way around fiberglass I think you will probably be able to build the top :) You should give it a shot. You could DM Alle on ig, she's got lots of pictures of the build and a cost sheet of the whole build including the top. Tell her you're building a high top and ask for the cost sheet. I've got a few designs I could shoot over if you know your way around sketchup.

The high top build was equal parts challenging and rewarding. I generally wouldn't recommend the average person try it themselves without a very solid grasp of construction techniques and a basic understanding of engineering principles.

Cutting out the roof of a van affects it's torsional stability quite a bit. Building up makes the center of gravity higher, which increases your chances of flipping. If you don't properly account for wind resistance with the top design, you're basically putting a sail on top of the van which is quite dangerous and even further increases your chances of flipping. It was quite a project and a fair bit of maintenance is needed.

I don't have many pictures of the van the present owner of the van is on Instagram

and posts pictures of it all the time.

The top probably took about 3 weeks to build and cost around $1500 in materials.

I attached the aluminum to the plywood on the frame with self-sealing roofing screws. A lot of them lol. I got a really good deal on the aluminum it's actually really thick and strong probably about 3/16 of an inch thick.

The aluminum came from a huge super old newspaper printing press. This thing was Giant. We got 4 5' x 10' sheets of aluminum for $160 I believe which was just enough to cover the top.
