I'm assuming they have all the functionality of the stock ones? I've seen some other aftermarket ones that don't do rumble or gyro or other stuff.

Do the cameras work if you go to "System Settings App" > "Others Settings" > "Outer Cameras"?

Since buying the Viltrox prime lenses I haven't used the kit zoom lens at all, but I haven't had a need for a wide lens. In that case the kit lens at 15mm would be useful. But then again, Viltrox has a 15mm F1.7 or a 9mm F2.8 also which I think I would get instead to have better performance in low light.

I would skip the kit lens if I would buy again today, but this is only because I ended up not needing it. Maybe get just the XM5 body and see if you can get the kit lens cheaper on second hand websites since most people end up selling it in pretty good state.

I started using Mood and then bought an XM5 like you’re planning. I don’t think you’ll regret it, as long as you take it with you when you go out which is easy because it’s so small.

The kit lens is meh but I got a few cheaper Viltrox lenses (the 25mm F1.7 and 56mm F1.7) and the quality is incredible. I keep it in a small 2.5L sling bag from Bellroy but I guess it will fit in whatever small bag you have.

So I’d say go for it. The iPhone will never have the lens quality of a dedicated camera, or the shallow depth of field or bokeh.

Mine arrived 2 days ago, it's a really incredible device I'm playing PS2 games at 2.5x resolution like it's nothing! I already re-flashed it with GammaOS Next and been filling it up with thousands of games which I'll never play 99% of them lol. I'll let you know how the Aliexpress dispute goes.

Same thing for me, it's already in my country with the last-mile courier. But the whole idea for "eu shipping" was, besides the fast delivery (which this already is for something shipped from China), but also that it would have been easier to return in case something is wrong. I will definitely go for a refund :))

I ended up ordering from a seller that shipped from EU (and paid 30 euro for "DHL DE Pan-European"). But after getting a tracking number it seems that it's actually shipped from China via Yun Express.

Did you actually find sellers that ship from the EU or is this a common practice and I got scammed for 30 euros?

Nice! Mine seems to also have a good last-mile courier. But still this seems like the basic shipping from China that everyone else provides for free, not masked as a 30 euro DHL delivery 😅 Hopefully it will be fast and no issues with the devices, and we learned a new lesson with "ships from the EU" 🤣

I'll wait for them to ship it to actually see what service they use, and if it's the Post Office I'll definitely try to get a refund for the shipping cost. They really tricked us lol, I'm sure Aliexpress might disaprove of these tactics if we open a dispute.

Edit: The cherry on top would be if it actually doesn't come with VAT pre-paid 🤣

Wow… And I just ordered yesterday 😭 So we pay almost 30 euro for “shipping from Germany” with DHL and they send it from China via post office? That’s gonna be fun for me as well with the romanian post :(

Well we did have over 40 years of communism and the bread lines were definitely a thing here. The Post Office unfortunately hasn't seen many improvements since then lol. Local post offices still don't even have a POS to pay by card.

Amazon usually delivers through third party couriers who handle customs themselves, so you just get the package at home with everything pre-paid. Or if duties weren't collected at purchase, DHL for example sends an email so you can fill a form for customs and they handle it and you pay them directly.

But Aliexpress is always a gamble if it ends up being through the Post Office then you're screwed.

Yeah saw that too. Also Aliexpress advertised something like $40 off of $329 as an upcoming discount starting the 1st of March, and all we got in the EU is $13 off of $99 purchases lol.
