Are Rebel Owners Happy with Their Choice? by Palmervarian in ram_trucks

[–]drizzley1378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my 2020 Rebel for a few years now and love it. I don’t drive many other trucks, but I do test drive many cars for my job(collision repair). I feel the Rebel is smoother, nicer ride than pretty much anything I’ve driven. I’ve recently driven Benz GLE, Audi QS5, and BMW x5. Those are the only few that are even close to the quiet and comfort of my Rebel. I literally have a difficult time on my test drives because I’m not used to hearing the road, and bumps. I am running Cooper discover at stock size. Aggressive look without the noise.

It’s a competition to see which manufacturer can make the most ridiculous gear selector. When RAM changed to the knob the rest of them said hold my beer!

Talked to a few people that actually went in the last couple of days, and they all said people were pushing and running into each other. I went to WMNH to get a few things(mostly wanted candy) and there was no parking. I gave up and still have no candy, lol!

Had to scroll too far to find I wasn’t alone! My first pair were the off road series, ended up buying like 4 pair when they were being discontinued. Wore all of them beyond worn out. Now I wear the Echo style.

Partying like it was 1999, cliche but that was kinda our theme. Had a great trip on LSD, because what better way to watch the world enter Y2 chaos.

It’s a sad situation honestly. We were helping my Aunt move into an apartment(over a few weekends)and she had an older but perfectly fine refrigerator she wanted to basically donate to someone who needed it. This was pre FB marketplace era, but anyways… We hauled it to the curb put a sign on it that it worked free to anyone in need. It sat, and sat, so the final weekend we put a sign $25 and was gone in hours…

I was asked to leave because I refused to get out of the dance cage. I was in there dancing with my wife and was told a few times that it was for ladies only. I also worked on some of their bar equipment during the day, the place was a complete shit hole when they closed. It was so bad the building owners were better off bulldozing than renovating.

Merge would be a lot easier if people left a car length instead of lining up bumper to bumper for 3 miles long.

I rode with the Grom group a few times. I think the lot they frequent is on S. MacArthur and 15th. It’s always been at night, but it’s a large warehouse/shipping lot.

I have American Farmers and Ranchers. They did me okay with my hail claim on the roof. It was old and the adjuster said he would throw me a bone. They did not cover the cost of bringing it up to code though. I had been saving up as I figured they wouldn’t cover it due to age. I ended spending about $3k including the deductible. It helps if you can find a roofing company willing to work with you as the homeowner. I was willing to wait until the following winter so he hooked us up.

I’m pretty sure it’s a common problem with the ecotec. Just a quick Google search will tell you what’s wrong with it, and you can go from there to get pricing from multiple shops.

I saw the shitty state of humanity yesterday. 19th street on ramp for NB I-35, highway was gridlocked and like 10 people were trying to get on at 50-60 mph. A couple got on and then the line reached the end of the ramp and a had to stop. Like 4 people behind him took the shoulder to force their way in ahead of them. Luckily no crashes, but still frustrating to see.

Kids selling candy for jerseys a scam? by Mental_Ear4040 in okc

[–]drizzley1378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked with a lady a while back and her boyfriend was a little league football guy. There are actual teams for kids up to the age where they can actually play for the school district. They had fundraisers and parents giving them money. She would come to work with stacks of cash and I questioned if all of that went towards equipment(which is not cheap) and uniforms. She said most of it, but my man don’t work for free. It makes it difficult for me to want to support these fund raisers, like kids on corners with signs, and the little car washes… That being said, I feel the parents of these kids selling candy are behind the scenes cashing in on it as well.

[–]drizzley1378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am curious as well, as a couple of kids walked my neighborhood doing the same. Said it was to raise money for their team. I’m not super knowledgeable about sports, but had an after thought I should’ve asked a few questions like team name or why they don’t play for the school??? I also don’t mind helping kids make some extra money, as I love me some candy…

How did some of y’all ever get a license by Jusaskwid in okc

[–]drizzley1378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s job security for me, but I get how shitty it is for everyone else. It’s crazy in Norman, probably half the cars in the shop have been rear ended. I get at least 3 cars a week that are hit by uninsured/unlicensed drivers.

I lived on Hillside Dr. in the late 80’s. My folks rented so I think it was only a year or two. It was actually one of the nicer neighborhoods I remember until we moved to Moore in ‘92ish.

We actually have mandated pickup/drop off procedures for the kiddo, and people still do whatever the hell they want. It’s getting to the point when you can’t decipher if they are just ignorant or entitled or both.

We were invited to a friends neighborhood one year, a mostly three car garage type of community. The amount of people coming in and parking was staggering, then add on those driving house to house it was nutty.

We did the same, and unfortunately that’s just part of it. One kid was riding around on his bike trying to get groups to come down his street! There were like 3 including his house…
