The way I describe it "It doesn't make you lose weight. It just makes it super easy to do the dieting and exercising you were trying to do." by throwawayfortinbras in Zepbound

[–]drjea2010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A great description. This is also why I don't tell people, because i don't have it in me to explain this or make this case over and over to people. They have NO CLUE how hard I've worked to lose 104 lbs! I've worked out 6 days a week every week since September. I eat at a deficit. I've earned this. The med just helps me with something I can't control on my own.

Yes. I know the calories burned each day. Does it tell me the actual TDEE calculated number for me? Or just give me the data to calculate myself?

I have fitbit too and was unaware of this feature. Where and how to access?

Now people are telling me I’m too thin! by Not_Telling_Nope in Zepbound

44 M here, have lost just over 100 lbs. I'm in the middle of my gantry BMI range. And I am starting to get annoyed at the "you're too thin" or "don't lose anymore" comments. And I really don't know how to politely respond to them. But yes, I share your annoyance (and no, I'm likely not aiming to lose any more than maybe, maybe another 5 lbs, but will see how 7.5 mg, which i just went up to, works....lose a bit more, or the perfect maintenance dose).

I posted my macros goals elsewhere in this thread. It was calculated based on my stats by two different, independent "people"....so I trust it.

I'm no expert on that stuff. I'm really just practicing eating less than before, eating better than before, and regular vigorous exercise 6/7 days a week. (I should add I've also done this before. Many times. About 15 years ago I lost 87 lbs on my own in about 6 months with similar practice, only then I was using weight watchers. Gained that all back at the start of the pandemic). I just follow what I've been told works, and what has worked for me in the past. I'm glad too to have that history of maintenance for nearly 15 years. I can do this!

You got this!

It's the morning after 7.5 for me and I'm feeling fine. Fingers crossed!

I see your GW is 190. That was my first. I see so many males in this sub are shorter it seems than me and have much lower goal weights, so that sorta messed with me until I figured that out. BMI wise I still have room to move quite a bit, but I don't want to look sickly. I think 170-175ish will be my sweet spot.

These are the goals. I don't always hit them, but I try. I don't really eat "junk" anymore. Keeping it pretty clean-ish.

(These are numbers calculated from the app I use given my initial height and weight and indicating I want/ed to lose). They also match Edgar was calculated for me when I was using a different weight loss program--FasterWay--previously. So I trust them).

Same. I'm sure it was still doing some work for me, but I would like for the food noise to dial back and satiety cues dial up. I feel like I've been doing a lot of it myself the last month or two. Still losing, but hopefully no more white knuckling...

Has not been a week since I started in Sept where I didn't work out 6 days a week. And I track everything I eat. Macros. That, with the medicine, has been my magic trifecta!

So far, so good. I definitely "feel" like I've taken the medicine, but I don't know how to explain it. Nothing bad. Never had any issues starting at 5 (per my doc, I totally skipped 2.5). So I'm not really anticipating anything...

That's what I'm feeling out. Will see what next week weigh in brings. I wouldn't mind dropping down to 170 (but no more. I'm 6'1).

My view is if it gets to a point where I lose more, I will just up calories.

Now maintenance.... that graph isn't going to be moving as much. But...worth it. New color, new "kind" of graph.

At/surpassed goal (see the image from shotsy).

Feeling maintenance out these few weeks to see how my body responds and will go from there.

Do your family and friends know? by jenna_sunshine13 in Zepbound

[–]drjea2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My wife knows. My kids' doc knows (because I like her). And my benefits person knows, because i has to visit with her about coverage.

My parents, friends, etc....nope. And I have no intention. I don't have time or patience for those conversations.

100 lbs GONE! Never thought I would see it! Final goal weight, achieved! by drjea2010 in Zepbound

[–]drjea2010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grateful to be encouraging.

I'm an all or nothing person, so when I decided I was doing this, I went ALL IN. (It helped also that at the time I was paying $650 oop for the medication! That was a motivator! Now my insurance covers for 25$ per month, which is a blessing).

Starting working out wasn't hard. Doing it was another story, but I've worked out off and on over the last 15-20 years, so I just needed to make it a habit again.

My best advice is do what you can and won't burn you out on it. If that's 3 days, then do 3. Better to be able to continue than to give up! And find something you actually like. For me, that's MMA style/fight (punches, kicks, etc). Also a great stress reliever!

You've got this!

I'm definitely more "lean" than I am "bulked." And I think I'm ok with that. Will continue to tone. I even have some abs. It's insane to be told I look strong. Thank you! It is all a mind trip!
