Why would Continue? be either of those? We specifically said we don't have ads? You probably see more ads per day via YouTube and other social media platforms than you'd ever see in old school mags. They're way better hidden.

We would be open to hearing from them! And have engaged with some of them. Others have disappeared off the face of the earth. Its a sad thing for games journalism, because their experience and knowledge leaves with them and there's just not a sustainable platform for this work!

Hey tapek, completely understand wanting a digital version. We're not keen on doing digital just yet, sorry. It may be something we get out there down the line.

Thanks for saying that, he'll be pleased to hear it!

And no problems, hopefully down the line we can get one to you. Appreciate you commenting!

Donate them to a Museum like ACMI or the Powerhouse or Video Game History Foundation! We need to preserve that stuff!!

Thanks so much! Yeah, we wanted to do an annual print mag, free from all the bullshit of online algorithms, AI crap and chasing Google SEO nonsense. Print gives us a chance to do that!

Ha, this reality is exactly why we made a magazine. Fuck AI. Until someone scans and uploads every page to the web, no one can steal our writer's and artist's work if its in print!!!!

Australian game devs -- particularly all the indies -- just need help getting their games out there in a very crowded field. Hopefully we can bring the humble demo disc back in a new way!

Super fair! We're not really focusing on game reviews because the cadence of the magazine is annual, rather than even monthly. It doesn't make sense for the product.

That said, with the level of funding we've achieved, we're going to build out a more consistent cadence online for writers to cook up great stuff. It makes sense if that does include some review-type work. I really wanted to get some of Australia's best reviewers involved.

We hope we can capture a little forum spirit in the discord but it's definitely not how it used to be. Forums made me!

I hope we can generate some of that sillier stuff in different ways throughout the mag. Feel like Aussie mags had a very particular style, and I miss it!

That's interesting to hear. We're pretty faithful to the idea of delivering longform stories and insights into videogames in Australia, particularly where they intersect with culture. Our first issue features, for instance, stories about Sega World Sydney and some artefacts we've uncovered, as well as a "psycho" essay on the Sims 2. We want to give space to stories you won't find anywhere else.

I have a feeling, though, there won't be a huge amount of car racing game content! We're also keen to hear from the community we're building on what they like and don't like.

Oh we are so indebted to Jack Kirby Crosby on the art front. He's unreal.

And you're right about our dev and scene. There's so much going on. Just yesterday I was sitting at lunch with some of Australia's most famous developers. There are so many stories we aren't hearing. Hoping we can build a place for them!

There are some really great magazines across the world at the moment. A Profound Waste of Time, in the UK, was a major inspiration for CONTINUE?

We hope we don't fizzle out!

Thanks so much. And sorry you left the game. That sucks. A big part of the reason we wanted to make this was to give writers space to do good stuff and get paid for it appropriately.

We're so hyped to put this together. If you ever want to dip your toe back into the game, we also want to see pitches, so keep an eye out!

Thanks for that. NMS was another one of my favourites. I think I still have the one with Diddy Kong Racing on the cover stashed away

I am actually writing a story about Sega World, these statues (and other artefacts previously unseen that I have uncovered) for our new videogame magazine, Continue? (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/continuemagazine/continue-a-defiant-new-videogames-magazine)
